anyone have a suggestion for when to start the scenario? the war was really fought in sections so it was usually 1 main state versus HRE and spain(bohemia, denmark, sweden, france) amd they never were really at the same time. eo you guys think i should start with the bohemian revolution? Then i should script the rest? Because there is no way to start the scenario in 1618 with bohemia and have the french make an impact 20 years later. But i can script it so all the countries join/leave at the right time. do you guys think that is a good idea?

Or i might start the scenario in 1600. I could then incorporate some of the80 yearswar, and every war that started in between the first polish swedish war and torstenson war. So during that time i would be scripting some 27 wars (around 5 would be during the start of the scenario) and i am pretty confident i could do those but some of the recolutions will be a bit difficult. What so you guys think of that idea?

I think i will do the 1600 idea, unless someone gives me a reason to do another year

Civ list for it
Spoiler :
Holy Roman empire
*Saxony
*Bavaria
*Austria
*Savoy
France
Spain
*Portugal
Dutch Republic
Sweden
Denmark-Norway
Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania
*Zaporozhian Cossacks
*Duchy of Courland
England
Ottoman Empire
*Principality of Wallachia
*Principality of Moldavia
*Khanate of Crimea
*Transylvania
Scotland
Grand Duchy of Tuscany
Croatia
Hungary
Venice
Genoa
Papal States
Venetian Republic
Switzerland
Ireland
Malta
Kingdom of Fez

If I can get an ok by someone for whether or not I have all the civs needed, and all the vassals are right etc. then I will go ahead and start creating the scenario

Also italy is in (the mod not scenario)

Great start date, but dont think Andorra should be a civ, seriously, andorra??? :(

Portugal was a vassal state, but not Flandes and Holland, they were spanish possesions, the heretics in revolt. :D

Besides that, i think Milan was spanish in that time.

If you have a copy of Europa Universalis 3, you could see the start date in 1600. If not, i could give you a screen shot.

And no Italy of course, all south of Rome was spanish, kingdom of Naples, the center was papal and the north venetian, firenze , siena and genoan.

I did not mean italy is in the scenario:lol: I mean i put it in the mod, see the screenshot:D

@ Andorra, i like small civs:lol: Plus with it just being a big europe map, there is definatly room for it. Once I finish making scenario (without it) than I will playtest. If there is not a lot of lag (there shouldnt be as much as GEM or huge maps) than I will add it in, since it would make it more accurate. But if there is lag i would not want to increae that so i would leave it out

@Netherlands, will be changed

@Milan, it was so will remove that civ

@Mod, no I dont have that, a screenshot would be great. I havent heard of that mod though  I will look it up

You have plentyfull of small civs in the italian city-states.

Europa Universalis is an strategy game from Paradox, around the years 1500-1800. The best made in the period, i will send you a screenshot of 1600.

Tell me if you need another year or any of the small states name.

Spain at war vs Holland, and vs England in another war. Austria vs Otomans. France at peace.

Portugal in a personal union with Spain, ans austria and spain allies.

Thanks for the screenshots. And @ your PM, yest I am sure I will nee dplently of help. I do not know that much about this time period and really all i haven't done all that much research (beside reading all the wikipages about it which was a good 45 minute read). I do not know any of the alliances, I am assuming one between HRE and Spain but not sure

Do you think i should split HRE more? Because your map has it split up but that would seem a bit hard to do in civ. Do you think any of the vassals for HRE should be strictly part of HRE?

Same with ottoman africa. Should i create tripoli etc. as vassals or just ottoman cities?

Whats the story on ireland? couldnt finnd much on that

Ehm....not too much about ireland in that time, sorry, only i know is it could be a base for the spanish Armada if the thing could have gone better.

Most german principalities, not HRE (HRE was a lot more big than the german minors, but in that time the power of the emperor was very feeble) went to protestanst and so, went war with Spain and Austria. That would not be historically correct, but perhaps you could make a civ with german catholics and another one with german protestants.

Splitting it up into two different civs i do not think is a great idea since if you want bohemia to revolt in 1618 you then need all of t he protestants to. i think it would be best if i keep holy roman empire, and anyone that revolts from it, i can create that as a civ that date. And anyone that is fighting another war, i can just make that a civ as well

Ireland was a crown domain of the King of England in 1600.
Are you really going to add Malta as a civ in the scenario?Malta isn't a very large island and governing a nation with an area of an 1-square island does not seem funny.

someone needs to control the island, can't just ignore it
England should control it
Plus this time period is the most important in maltas history probably (although more 16th but 17th as well)
see here
What area will they control?I guess a large enough area so that they can be represented as a civ.
