European-amarican compatibility issue

Can european and american versions communicate as long as it is the same patch version???

The european version is born with 1.14f - at least mine is ...

Hopefully Firaxis will soon make a uniform patch so the american- european crisis will not include us civ-addicts as well

Yup. But currently, the American patch is 1.21f, so most people will have that by now. The current european patch is 1.14f. However, if the American and the European are patched up to 1.14f, then yes, you can play MP games.

The current European patch is 1.14?? I have 1.0.1 and I can only find an American patch on the Civ3 website.

I'm having a very hard time trying to join a MP session..

To be exact, I have 1.01f. There is only a patch for the American version on the Civ 3 website... Does anyone know how to get a European patch? And what is the reason for this difference between American and European games anyway?

It is possible to use the US upgrade to 1.21 on a European version, but you need to use a crack in order to run it.

After a long search I found an 1.14 patch, I believe it was on the German atari website. So this night I was able to play my first MP game, oh joy!

I still find it very strange this very essential patch can not be found on the civ 3 website..
