European Middle Ages Mod Resurrection

I saw the need for some work in Turkish on the first page...and rather than trawl through all 42 pages, I thought I'd be lazy and ask if any work was still needed? :P

@Head Serf: Great work on the new version! Much better then the last one.:goodjob:

@Ceritoglu: Yes I think work is still needed. Nobody else has volunteered to do the Turkish translation.

Well, I'm studying Persian and Turkish at Oxford (first year) and am pretty confident in my Turkish translation skills; if you could PM me with any text that needs translating I'd be more than happy to oblige (the downside to organisation being that I've completed all my holiday work recently).

I'm having a problem with the installing the download of v. 0.56

I download and save the file, but when I attempt to unzip it, using Win Acer v 2.6, it just freezes up and nothing unzips. (I don't have this problem unzipping any other files with Win Acer, including the European Middle Ages Music files.)

That's odd. Can you try downloading an evaluation version of WinZip or WinRAR and see what happens? Or maybe redownload v.56 and try again with your program, the file could be corrupt.

We need translators for the following languages: (For now, mostly diplomacy text)

French (lshockley)
German (Head Serf)
Spanish (lshockley)
Italian (lshockley)
Polish
Norwegian or Danish
Russian
Hungarian or Latin
Greek
Tatar or Turkish
Turkish
Arabic or even better, Masri (Masri?)
Arabic
Armenian (Drtad)
Lithuanian or Polish

Plans for the future

  • Adjust Leader personalities
  • Get the German diplomacy done, maybe include Armenia too (in progress)
  • Have every civilization have their own flag

i can do hungarian! let me know how to get you my email address

i noticed you have the same leader picture, avatar, whatever you call it for a bunch of the civs, and it is exactly the same for hungarian, french and one other. i can get you realistic images of saint stephen, one of my country's most iconic and revered figures, and give you advice and translation for a Magyar special unit. finally, why did my hungarian settlers start in sweden??

the map is really nice and i'm loving the music

Your help, I''m sure, will be more than welcome. I think everyone is on spring break right now.

whenever i click on a civ to select to play as. the game shuts down and i get an error report. also, at least 5 units are red dots. would it be possible to get different skins for the knights? and also, would it be possible to somehow code in major events in history, like Manzikert or the Crusades or other major battles? also, is it still a work in progress?

This is still a work in progress. Input is valued. The project leader will be back on the 19th and answer a lot of the questions, I think :) .

sorry about all the posts. tried .56 and all is working but cant play the Map made for the mod. I belive you can take units from FFH as long as you mention that and mabey import some units from warlords. (ex:jannisaries) also the berber calvalry has a spear comming out of his shoulder.

public maps

why did my hungarian settlers start in sweden?

I looked at both the large and small maps through World Builder and the Hungarians start in the Danube Valley. Can you upload a save?

Also, upload an image of St. Stephen I that can be possibly used as a Leader Head. I can't make any promises as to whether or not it be used though.

dark ages scenerio works. the map by Craig Sutter does not work it is in private maps. Also, when i exit to main menu out of dark ages scenerio it goes black and i get a pop up saying i have an error report. doesnt happen when playing any other scenerio. Would it be possible to add the Ayybasid Sultanate? rulers of baghdad and damascus. they were shiite and the other muslim states were sunni. were almost allied to the crusaders.

none of the scenerios for the mod work except dark ages. the scenerios i said above were the ones in the core game. they are in public maps, same place as the dark ages, all the worldbuilder file. they apear in the scenerio list for main game but as soon as i load the mod they arnt on the list.

The scenarios made for the mod and Craig's map were put together prior to the release of v.56 and may need to be updated. That is probably the reason for your troubles. I don't play them yet because the mod is still in development. I don't think the mod will ever work with the vanilla civ scenarios. Scenarios are specific to a mod.

The addition of the Abbasid Caliphate (Sunni), as I am used to calling it, would be a good question for Head Serf when he returns. The main objection I can see is it's heyday was only a couple hundred years. However, they would be a good civ for a scenario. That's just my opinion. :)
