King Guillem III has looked upon his kingdom and seen a disgusting turn of events: out of all of the known world, his people are among the most ignorant. Guillem sends word to the papacy that he wishes to enlist the aid of his nation's monks to increase the literacy of his people (i.e. increase culture).
As he increases the culture of his people, Guillem III has also realized that his people need more room to breathe. He sends a small contingent of troops westward, to obtain more territory in the name of their king.

Iceland
Times were not of the best. I decided that more needed to be done about the economy, the army and fleet would have to wait. Also I needed people, mass numbers, and talented people to help me. With that in mind I sent a friend of mine, Throk to Norway to command the colony there. I hoped he would do his best there. Then it dawned on me, I would divide the growing Icelandic Empire among talented men, loyal to me, and I would control the homeland and the military.
And I knew where I was expanding. I sent a message to the world that I claimed the islands between Iceland and mainland Europe were the property of the people of Iceland. From there I sent XXX foot soldiers to hold the islands under the command of Ragnar, named so for the Norwegian monarch. Also I sent some long boats packed full of men, south. There I knew lay the island called Ireland. I commanded XXX foot soldiers to hold the northern coast of the island for me. Of course my Governor that was sent there was Eric, a man known for his calm demeanor, at the negotiation table and on the battlefield. He was sent with the message of friendship with the Irish Celts there.
And further south I sent another chunk of my army to the coast of France. I knew there was a peninsula there empty of government and I decided that it was for me, with General Frasch I sent XXX men to hold it. I was pleased with all as it was and shifted my fleet around better for the protection of the homeland.
And finally for the betterment of the people I ordered the construction of a temple to the God of Fertility Freyr in Reyjavok in the West. I hoped it would encourage the people to breed and increase the number of people in the Empire to spread into the newly acquired lands. And so the Temple of Freyr was begun. I had no idea how long until it would be finished, and could only hope I would see its end.
Norwegian Colony: I arrived and found that there wasnt really a government that was set up for anything. So after I had ordered the troops as my King had asked, I organized it under a central authority mine, and through me my King Wellsich. I asked the settlers to expand, to take more land if they needed it. Also my king had asked for me to increase the culture of the people here, the way I knew how to do that best was to educate and build. I ordered all through the land for many a small temples to be built for the worship of the people here. And in the capital I asked a spot for higher learning to be appointed, and a building for those interested in further learning to enter and increase the prosperity of my nation.
Irish Colony: I arrived with my men and a portion of the fleet to this green, green land. I immediately sent word to the natives requesting that they let us stay in the area, for now it would only be the military, and maybe later as people felt like it they would filter into this land. But we would do our best to not aggravate them, and be their friends. And if they felt that our two people were of a kind, then they could join our empire, and receive citizenship.
French Colony: This was a pure military installation, Wellsich was worried that the best land would be claimed before he could get into Europe. I was afraid he had overextended himself, but he is my king and I will do, as is his will. I landed the troops and built forts to house them immediately, these forts would have to be semi self sufficient, and maybe later people would come to these lands and speed up the expansion.

We are shocked! We are not in that region to attack you, we need fertile lands ourselves so that we can grow and be prosperous. As for it being your land, if you will look at a current European map my people are being sent to an area that belongs to Russia, Spain, or France as much as it does to the Norwegians not at all. It was free for the taking. It is our land now, please understand that.
Also realize this is a unwarranted attack on people that have never engaged in warfare before...you are assaulting peaceful people. Is THAT what your God asks you to do? Slaughter? Mass destruction? I ask that you look throguh your bible again before you great your fellow man with a knife rather than a warm embrace and a cross. So please reconsider your harsh words. We arent there to rape or murder your familes, but to rasie our own, God was generous in the giving of land to you, maybe it is time to extend that generosity to others.
