My contribution:
Turn 0 -- 4000 BC
Ok, I had to go with 80% water, because I just couldn't get a coastal spot (this also reduces the space for the AI ). Starting position is good, we're on a lake so we can grow to 12, we're on the coast so we can build boats, two grapes nearby so we have one for ourself and one for trade, and a good variety of squares.

Turn 1 -- 3950 BC
Delhi is founded on grapes (we have two additional nearby). Warrior ordered. Worker goes to Mine grapes.
We start Bronze Working

Turn 2 -- 3900 BC
Worker begins Mine

Turn 6 -- 3700
Warrior done, order up another--he spies Goody Hut.

Turn 8 -- 3600 BC
Worker completes Mine, begins Road
The Aryan Village is deserted

Turn 10 -- 3500 BC
Warrior done, order up another
Iroquois spotted, I chat up Hi
They give us 35 Gold and Pottery for Alphabet. I accept.

Turn 11 -- 3450 BC
Our borders expand...hooray for them!

Turn 12 -- 3400 BC
We get Bronze Working, I order up Iron Working
Worker begins Mine

Turn 13 -- 3350 BC
Delhi completes Warrior, I order up Spearman for defense.
I spy a red border across the bay from us...Romans?

Turn 14 -- 3300 BC
Warrior spies Goody Hut

Turn 15 -- 3250 BC
I have disturbed the Mongols...good luck Ex!
I have found Rome. Two warriors are heading there...Ex, you may want to do your stuff...

We're looking good on the Commerce side (all the water and grapes around us), so we may have a better than half chance of winning this

0 - Delhi changed to warrior. Won't do gambit w/o 3 attackers. Will pop-rush the spearmen if necessary.
WC, 6g from Rome for CB/Pottery

1 - We get an elite Warrior form the Mongol attack.

2 - nothing

3 - nothing

4 - Prepare for attack

5 - Sceiche - looks like they got a settler. Lets hope not.

6 - War is declared. Spearmen -> Barracks. The gods do not smile on us. Romans get an Elite defender and we lose 2. Pray.

7 - Alright, time to panic!

8 - nothing

9 - nothing

10 - nothing

Lee, you're up

(0) 2750 BC - No changes.

(3) 2630 BC -

Ok, these are going to be really fast turns!

During my turns we produced an archer, worker, temple and spearman.

We stole a Roman worker...should be perfect to colonize either the iron or horses nearby (Iron is probably the best choice because it is behind us and will be easier to defend/keep).

We have a spearman/archer/archer/warrior force to go after Rome. Good luck!

With one city our cash flow will be rough. We would be better off using one of our OWN workers. We need to keep cash outflow to a minimum.

I agree - Iron is the better first colony.

1950 BC (0): Not much to look at with only one city , Iroquois have Masonry and want 30 gold, decide to wait until war with rome is won.

1910 BC (1): Mine is complete, move workers to clear the forest on the way to the iron. Some military movement toward Rome.

1870 Bc (2): Worker begin clearing forest. More troop movement

1830 BC (3): Build an archer and start another. Iriquois found Grand River NE of Niagra.

1790 Bc (4): Troops are in the Roman radius 2 archer and a spear to the south, warrior to the East.

1750 Bc (5): Learn HBR, start writing, figure could by masonry from Iroquios soon. set research low to avoid losing gold. See a spear/settler combo outside of Rome, Attach reg spear with Vet warrior and win 2 more workers, lost 3 hp however must move out and rest.

1725 BC (6): Delhi grows to 5 and expands, arch complete start another. Decide to wait for the warrior to heal before attacking Rome, by then the other archers should be closer.

1700 Bc (7): Forest Cleared, bonus grassland mined. Archer completes next turn.

1675 BC (8): Rome wants peace I refuse, another spear/settler pair leaves rome will try to chase with the warrior. One more archer will arrive soon then I will attack.

1650 BC (9): Elite warrior with 3 hp attack spear/settler pair and defeats the spear 2 more workers, contemplating letting rome just pump out free workers for a few more turns before attacking. Nah the spear/settler must have depleated the MP's so I attack. The first archer defeats the lonely spear and Rome is taken then summarily destroyed.

BTWN: Palace expands and barb appear to the SW. yikes

1625 BC (10): Send Lone spearman to protec the workers, bump lux to 10% to avoid the revolt caused by the MP leaving, the spear will be replaced next turn by a new one. Didn't want to waste worker turns by retreating without getting the road finished.

Iriquois will trade Masonry for HBR straight up. I will let the next player decide. Lux can be reduced after the spear is built. Many troops are out and about, are the Iroquois next ???

Rome is gone, 4 new free Workers and a few new archers ready to take on the Iroquois

Here is the save:

OCC Conquest 1625 BC

Got it...I'll try to play tomorrow night, but I may not get to it until Friday night.

Turn 0 -- 1625 BC
In one of those weird twists of fate, the last game I played finished in 1625 BC...

I will NOT trade HBR to the Iroquois.

Turn 1 -- 1600 BC
Delhi finishes Spearman, begins Archer (to take out Barbarians)
Lux dropped back to 0%
Science dropped to 10%...losing too much gold. We're now breaking even.
Troops move generally in Iroquois' direction

Turn 2 -- 1575 BC
Barb dies on Spearman.
Workers outside Delhi completes Mine, can't do anything as Barb in way.

Turn 3 -- 1550 BC
Another Barb dies on Spearman
Barb shows up in North...our Warrior smashes

Turn 4 -- 1525 BC
War with the Iroquois!
We lose one of the Roman Workers to a Iroquois Warrior, and one of our archers die as well.
Delhi produces Archer, begins Archer
Niagara Falls is razed, two Workers captured.
Archer kills Warrior
Grand River is razed.
We disperse a Barb encampment

Turn 5 -- 1500 BC
Palace gets a Mezzanine

Turn 6 -- 1475 BC
I kill a Scout

Turn 7 -- 1450 BC
Erk, got so caught up in the War I missed Delhi rioting!
(How hard can it be to watch 1 city?!?)
We lose an Archer v Archer battle
We win an Archer v Archer battle

Turn 8 -- 1425 BC
The Iroquois have requested an audience...I ignore them.
Delhi finishes Archer, begins Archer
We disperse a Barb encampment for 25 Gold

Turn 9 -- 1400 BC
We lose an Archer v Archer battle

Ok, our troops diminished, I make peace with the Iroquois. We get Masonry and Writing and their treasury (3 gold).

I recommend pulling back, healing, then attacking again soon. They have horses in their borders...they just don't know it yet.

Turn 10 -- 1375 BC
ZzzZzz

Roman Worker is about to build Iron colony. Spearman is heading that way.
We have more workers then we know what to do with.

Gather the troops outside Iroquois borders. We need to remove them before they get Mounted Warriors...we hope.

We're currently researching Map Making.

Here's the save:

I think Lee is right about using our own worker for the colonies. The Roman workers my work at half speed but they cost us nothing and cash flow is already a problem.

Whoops, brain fart. I meant to put one of ours there...

skip me, I'm in the middle of packing so I'm real busy (though I don't wanna be).

My reccomendation: Get at least 3 spearmen inside Delhi. Good defense will make our war efforts less risky.

(0) 1375 BC - WT? Why do we have two workers on a mine OUTSIDE of Delhi usefull range and roading the square.
ARGGGGGGG - I cancel the roading immediately. Total waste of worker time.

The good news - the Iroqoius have just 1 city still.

(4) 1275 BC - We know have 2 colonies for horses and iron.
I used our two native workers. Our cash flow appreciated them going away.

(7) 1200 BC - I disband our warrior - military cost are to high already.

Summary - The next player should be able to wipe out the Iroqoius.
Germany will be tougher - they have at least 3 cities.

Lee,

They were roading towards the Iron to build a colony...why is that a waste of time? Surely you don't want to rely on only one Iron colony?

ChrTh - I didn't think about a second iron source.

However, that tile was MINED. Seeing the mine instantly made me think worker screw-up - fix it. If the mine wasn't there - I would have looked more closely to figure out why the workers were they.

This was another case of a mistake compounded itself - the mining screwup caused me to react incorrectly.

Next person can send a couple of workers toward the 2nd Iron source.

About your sig - does that mean you can or can't play Tue?
