Expanded Natural Wonders

Over in the 'RFC Dawn of Civilization' mod, we're starting an effort to drastically expand the number of Natural Wonders that are possible to include in the game. Since we're using a world map, the idea is to have a pre-defined location for each wonder, but randomly determine which ones appear in the game as the map is generated at the start of the game. But once each Natural Wonder feature is created, their graphics could be included in other mods, including Caveman 2 Cosmos.

How many people here have graphic design experience, and know how to use the Civ IV modding tools to create new features? Would anyone be willing to jump in and help out in the DoC thread, knowing that the same Natural Wonders could be used for this mod once they're ready?

I can only speak for myself to say, cool, but I'm not up to speed with feature crafting art. Probably isn't TOO hard. I think @Toffer90 may be the only guy here with that experience at the moment and he's a little stretched thin with the UI work he's doing here but I won't speak for him as to his willingness to assist.

Just curious, what further natural wonders were you thinking of including (I think it might be cool to get some done that could be applied on other planets too... Olympus Mons for example, on Mars, could be pretty awesome for us to include.)

I have experience with models and know how to manipulate NIFs and have been learning about creating 3D models in SketchUp.

I've read you were interested in monuments that could be on top of rivers and on the coast, or made bigger or smaller, the first of which could be adapted from models like the Waterwheel or Hydro Dam, the latter is a simple transform procedure.

...Oh that is clever. Rather than change the basic look of a 'river', add a feature that covers over it. I'm glad you're interested in joining the project!

There were a lot. The thread (linked in my initial post) has a full list and maps, but we're looking to add most of the Natural Wonders that appeared in Civ 5 and 6 (that list is below), as well as a number of 'holy mountains' and certain other sites. Basically: if there's a natural feature you like, add it to the list, and we'll try to make as many of them as possible.

Here's the list for Civilization V, minus the mythical or legendary ones:
  • Barringer Crater
  • Grand Mesa (CiV only)
  • Great Barrier Reef
  • Krakatoa
  • Mt. Fuji
  • Old Faithful
  • Rock of Gibraltar (CiV only)
  • Cerro de Potosi (CiV only)
  • Mt. Kailash (CiV only)
  • Mt. Sinai
  • Sri Pada (CiV only)
  • Uluru
  • Lake Victoria (CiV only)
  • Mt. Kilimanjaro

And here's the list for Civilization VI, most of which are not only either list above:
  • Chocolate Hills
  • Cliffs of Dover
  • Crater Lake
  • Dead Sea
  • Delicate Arch
  • Eye of the Sahara
  • Eyjafjallajokull
  • Galapagos Islands
  • Giant's Causeway
  • Gobustan
  • Great Barrier Reef
  • Ha Long Bay
  • Ik-Kil
  • Lake Retba
  • Lysefjord
  • Mato Tipila
  • Matterhorn
  • Mount Everest
  • Mount Kilimanjaro
  • Mount Roraima
  • Mount Vesuvius
  • Pamukkale
  • Pantanal
  • Piopiotahi
  • Sahara el Beyda
  • Torres del Paine
  • Tsingy de Bemaraha
  • Ubsunur Hollow
  • Uluru
  • Yosemite
  • Zhangye Danxia

You're aware we already have a good portion of those right? Not to say we have them all.
Yup; the first thing I did was to survey which Natural Wonders already appear in other Civ IV mods, especially C2C. I merely didn't quote that part, since the question was asking which additional wonders we're trying to create/

Incidentally, it looks like History Rewritten has two Natural Wonder features -- 'Yellowstone' and 'Eisreisenwelt' -- that don't appear in this mod. Do we know if those features are decent enough quality for inclusion here?

The only problem is that terrain features are on a plot and rivers are on the edge of plots.

Off-topic: I play on huge maps (from the YNAEMP -Yet Not Another Earth Map Pack) and the map I use most doesn't generate any Natural Wonders. But I can add as many as I want wherever I see fit thanks to the Ingame Editor mod.

Suggestions:
- Mount Everest
- Niagara Falls
- Eye Of The Desert (Sahara, Mauretania, near the Atlas Mountains)
- All the ones that are in Civ6 which aren't in Civ5...

You are missing out C2C terrains and features by playing on those maps.

I don't use the C2C (Caveman2Cosmos?) mod. I have loads of others, mind, like Beyond The Future and Prehistoric Era Reborn...
Are these 2 mods you named for Civ IV. I would assume that is your point of reference here. And are they listed in the CFC download section?

I Think you took a left where you had to take a right, this is a Civ IV mod, and the discussion was adding the Natural wonders included in later games to Civ IV amongst others,
