F1 2004 Season

I'm surprised you didn't know about it already. After all, it is a fairly popular dish in England.
Actually, the "Rosbif" expression to talk about brits have been invented during WW1... If you were named this way, it wasn't because you enjoyed meat, it was actually because brits are pictured as red-faced on the usual clichés... looking actually like a roast beef. The usual cliché about Brits are about red-faced people with bad yellow teeth.

So my point was to be mean. Especially that I hate when it becomes nationalist.

I didn't know it was an insult, no. A more appropriate name would probably be Big Mac nowadays.

This has kinda moved away from F1 hasn't it... :crazyeye:

It's not because of the dish ! You aren't named "rosbif" (Roast Beef) because you eat roast beef, you're named like that because your skin is as red as roast beef ! :D

Our soliders were called lobsters when we worn the bright red uniforms.

Okay, how about if we were called imperialist cow-loving, red-faced, emotionally-stunted, xenophobes?

Result from Monaco GP:

1 J Trulli (Renault)
2 J Button (BAR)
3 R Barrichello (Ferrari)
4 J Montoya (Williams)
5 F Massa (Sauber)
6 C Da Matta (Toyota)
7 N Heidfeld (Jordan)
8 O Panis (Toyota)

It's nice to see that some things in F1 never change. Monaco is always a hell of a grand prix.

Sometimes it can be dull but today it was actually a decent race with events in the tunnel having a large impact on the race. I wasn't particularily impressed by Heidfeld who seemed to dislike allowing the leaders past him. I guess it was probably just bad luck but he could have been a lot more helpful and held up the leaders several times.

I actually think Monaco produces a dull race more often than not. Today's being the exception of course. Its usually the less celebrated circuits that produce the best GPs. Everyone berates Magny Cours but its given us great races - frentzen winning in 99, Coulthatd giving Schumacher the fingers in 2000...

I missed the race :( what happened to Schumacher? Most exciting events? Did Button have a good race? And isn't Montoya in Williams

Great race, most definately the best of the year so far.

Button got stuck in traffic at the start but finished about 0.5 seconds behind Trulli. Yes, Montoya is in Williams (I think you're thinking a bit too far ahead there MrPresident ;) ). Behind the safety car, in the tunnel, Schumacher braked suddenly and Montoya was caught unaware and bumbed into Schumacher who went into the barrier and knocked his wing and left wheel off.

Good race indeed! I'm just mad at those idiots at BAR who didn't take Sato in when it was fairly obvious that his engine was going to let go. Luckily it didn't happen in the tunnel and Raikkonen got past him ok. DC and GF weren't as lucky.

Good old Schumacher braketesting again, I have to admit I was slightly amused seeing him pay for it and coming out of the tunnel with his wrecked car :)

Trulli was probably low on fuel and really didn't need to press hard since it was a 5 second lead that gradually reduced and there wasn't any real risk of him being overtaken...

I'm going to pass the blame onto the site that I copied and pasted from.

He might have made a mistake though, especially considering what his team-mate did earlier in the race.

Still unlikely though and Alonso's mistake can be partially blamed on the Williams that he was trying to pass...

But you do pass before and after the tunnel and there were indications that the Williams slowed down too much in the tunnel forcing Alonso to go round the outside.
