"Failed to compress save file"

Whenever I try to save my game, it gives me this error message. I think the game file got too big to save. Is this fixable?

I think you're right about running out of memory. That may be a hard drive problem. Have you checked to see if you have enough room on your drive? This may be a form of MAF. Are you running on the SVN version or stock v37? How far into the game are you when you encounter this? Are there any recent autosaves?

Is your BtS using the Official 3.19 patch?

It almost certainly is a hard drive problem, I think I'm either out of room, or the files are getting too big to save. I should probably have tried deleting some old, useless saves instead of bugging people on the internet. It started happening early renaissance/600 AD, and I autosave every turn, backed up to 50 turns (Saying that out loud, I can probably see that that might be a problem)

Don't worry about it... we actually like to help when we can.

If you look at the C drive details you can probably see how much memory you have left there. You might be the first person to have a hard drive issue with memory... it would be an impressive feat for a computer old enough to have storage volume issue to not also be looking at ram and processing speed issues.
