Fairline ToT Scenario Graphics

Wow, thank you for converting my scenario, Fairline :D

I can help with unit names, although i think i was very creative with them (and most are generic unit type names). I am not really familiar with the historical names or classes of units...

No problem, really - I haven't done a 'proper' job of it as defined in Catfish's checklist, but its perfectly playable.

Unit names - excellent, I was thinking I needed translations of Greek unit types, but I guess if I just make the unit gfx fit the attack/defence stats of the unit, that should be OK.

EDIT: On second thoughts, what are these:

Staurophoroi (latins) Are these Crusaders?
epilect (latins)
misthorophoroi (latins)

I meant what you wrote. But thanks for posting bmps :D

OK, here's a quintet of, er, quintessential Ancient / Classical era scenarios. Units are by me and Tanelorn, cities by CurtSibling and me, people by me, Terrain from a variety of sources, chiefly Catfish and Favoured Flight. I've included alternate static sprite files for people who prefer zoomed in or zoomed out play.

Catfish's Test of Time conversions of the majority of the scenarios are all linked on his site: http://users.tpg.com.au/jpwbeest/ (under links)

First up is BeBro's magnificent Imperium Romanum:

Sticking with the Romans / Carthaginians / Iberians theme, here's a favourite of mine, Of Celts and Iberians by Jesús Balsinde:

Next is Stefan Härtel's Macedonians v Persians romp, 'QUEST FOR ASIA,The Conquests of Alexander the Great Version 3'. I've included some of Tanelorn's fantastic units in this one.

Last but not least, the masterful Techumseh's multiplayer Roman Civil Wars, which plays equally well solo. This one is available at Tech's site with some rather creaky units by yours truly. Please do me a favour and replace these abominations with this new unit set!

After not playing Civ2 in single player mode for quite some time I started a game of Komnenai yesterday (Petit's ToT conversion and graphics mod) and I'm having really good fun. The thing that really makes it feel like a new scenario is the fantastic unit and terrain graphics. Now Fairline has given me five more reasons to 'waste' a few more days holiday getting to grips with these Ancient classics. Fantastic work! I hope this will re-ignite my passion for Civ2 which has been waning a little recently.

I will be busy upgrading my scenarios tonight! :D Stellar job as ever, old chap...!
