Fall from Divine Intervention II: Mercenary for the Gods

OOC: is no tech trading on?

Two out of game requests: Please do not use any unit that has been given excessive levels, such as Sera, to free Brigit. Also, please do not disband Sera. Agares, allow me to explain why...

For Agares, Not for mortal eyes
Spoiler :
If Paulus ends up converting to the Ashen Veil, I want to write a story about your servants stealing her away and corrupting and twisting her to Agares will. Then I am going to create a Mary Morbius unit with the name Cera and set it to the barbarians. I think that is a lot more fun that just getting rid of the unit.

edit: Actually, deleting the unit would not ruin the idea, so do whatever you want, Paulus.

Preliminary plannings lead me to believe that you can free Brigit with windwaker ONLY IF he has successfully subdued 5 servants of Tali. The drawingboard, however, is still very much open. If the servants get nerfed, of course the req would be quite different.

(just throwing that out there)

@ Gods
Spoiler :
Why not, Honor? He has obviously broken the rules, I will be inspecting every single one of the saves if you don't come out, whoever did that

@Seon
Spoiler :
I'm just a spectator, so I don't want to get involved much in the affairs of Gods (out of respect). I'll just say "page 8" (posts 141-160) and leave it at that. The God who made the changes actually mentions he made the changes ;)

@Gods, especially Tasunke
Spoiler :
By the gods, how is ggiving the Bannor an alter on every city a small boost:eek:? I would appreciate it if every godcomply to the revised compact written very clearly in the OP or somewhere. Can anyone else check for the Amurites as well and see if they aren't overpowered too

The amurites seem fine, I checked most other civs for any obvious imbalances.

Also, to the next god that edits the save:
Spoiler :
I gave the Sheiam a obsidian gate in the capital, to compensate for being attacked by orthus and the apes. I though it was not so overpowered, considering it only allows 1 unit to be transported per turn, and the AI can't use it well, but I just remembered that it spawns a very powerfull gate creature. Could someone go to the Sheiam capital and remove the Obsidian gate for me? I don't feel it is big enough of a change to warrant a got it.

Got the save, doing changes NAO

Hastur lied on the couch. A bright looking demoness took out her clip-board and brightly started to doodle on it.

"I.." said Hastur. "Well, I kinda did whatever I did all this years."

The demoness smiled, she doodles some more on her clipboard. "Well, ya know," said Hastur. "I knew I was only supposed to send them a few, but where was the fun in that? I ended up sending a legion's worth.

The demoness smiled again. She doodled some more on her clip-board.

"Well, I knew that I wasn't supposed to, but it was just SOOOO tempting!" yelled out Hastur. "Isn't it what we are supposed to do anyways?"

The Demoness nodded. "So far, your psychological examination proves that although you are sadistical and omnicidal as Os-Gabella on the exterior, that your interior of the mind is..." She glanced at her clipboard and discovered that she drew a very bright looking dragon breathing fire. She threw it away. "...that you are even more sadistical and omnicidal jerk that cares about no one else but yourself."

Hastur smiled. "So normal then?"

The demoness smiled back. "Normal"

...............................................

When the fog descended upon Hippus land, it wasn't pretty sight on its own on the first place.

Well, it was more like it wasn't something you would want to hear, screams of dead and dying seemd to emnate from it. This was probably due to the fact that the fog was indeed filled with assorted dead or dying people, and those people were MEAN.

Meanwhile, Lachesos now approached the court. "Lord Mammon is displeased that you haave broken his wish, and have sent me to assisst you in your rule, however, he is also pleased that you have acquired many resources, and gave you this treasure chest, along with a cart full of gold."

"Remember that we are all concerned with wellfare of all your subjects, Tasunke, and we are the quickest way to your people's salvation..."

Changes
Spoiler :
Added a lot of spctres, albeit so that thety won't cause too much collateral damage... Thomas, you are free to put any counters...

Also gave Paulus 20 golds and a treasure chest North of his capital city which I can't really be bothered to spell.

Gave Paulus Lachesos, an Adept with Mind and Death Magic

When I find my BTS disc I will do some changes (this doesn't count as a got it)

I'm unavailable for play (or writing, for that matter) from Wednesday till Sunday.

That being said, I might be able to get the update across on Tuesday if both the gods and the mortal hurry up - though I can't guarantee whether it's going to be a good update. And I think this update might be a very important one considering that I'll be forced to choose one side or the other...

Finally ... have ... internets ...

For gods only

Spoiler :
Yeah ... I got WAY carried over with the Bannor. I do remember putting libraries, elder councils, and academies, and Alchemy labs in all the Amurite cities at the time of the boost. However, that could have been undone when I was looking over for outlandish additions. It is agreed that I went WAAAAY overboard with the Bannor. This being said, I felt to make some of the civs to be large and outlandish superbosses out of some of the civs, if not all. For instance, I halfway wish to place planar gates and public baths in all Sheiam cities to help them defend against the bannor. The main reason I felt compelled to change all civs in this different ways was because as the "mischevious and playful" god, I felt making each civ more powerful and more unique could be my "thing" but I digress. I was also the one to add temples of winter, frostling archers, and Snow to the Illians in the first place. I apologize to those that felt a large breech in contract, or a major offense.

In regards to point number 2, over the half the gods that signed up are not posting.

Well as for Cerdiwen, I'm not posting but still watching. ;) Cerdiwen needs her time to wait for some interesting relationships to develop.

Wait for the Hippus to tire of the demands and pointless quests of the other Gods, and they will realize that Ceridwen is the true path to power.

Now, time to head back to the shadows ...

Pointless quests? How is building a civilization made of pure gold a pointless quest?

:p

Pointless quests? How is building a civilization made of pure gold a pointless quest?

:p

True, the quest itself may be fruitful, but the rewards of the gods are not. Why work for these gods that always demand more? Complete one task and they will only order you to begin a harder one. Do not be tempted by their pathetic trinkets and gifts. Rebel! Be true to yourself, not their commands.

Edit: Well, there goes the hiding. It seems my mission statement is out in the open now.

Yeah, something good against evil megalomaniacal plotters, just provoke them once and out goes their plans. Yeah, their true plan is to babble out their plans to their sworn enemies while they take aim on your head :p.

Very true, especially in my case. Babbling is my favorite part of playing the villain, especially since I would just be babbling about something less interesting anyways. If people are trying to foil my plans, someone might actually listen to me. :D

But my plan doesn't really need to be secret anyways, although Cerdiwen might have prefered it that way.

And who knows, maybe there is still something left unsaid ..... :mischief:

Or maybe not ..... :mischief:

Finished with the save. I will write my story latter.

Not For Mortal Eyes
Spoiler :
Changes made:
-Added Scout, Hunter, and Settler with appropriate promotions (per DiamondEyes)
-Gave Dora Viconia Loyalty and Mobility (per DiamondEyes)
-Removed the Obsidian Gate from the Sheaim capital (per Kenken)
-Gave Sera Undead Slaying
-Added a tag to the middle continent called "Spine of the Beast" to a mountain.

My thoughs on the above changes:
Dora was in the middle of the Calabim empire, right outside of their capital. Creating an instant army that can ignore city defenses (thanks, Shadow 1!) so close to their cities may be a little overpowered. Whoever helps out the Calabim may want to take that into account. Dora is so strong I don't really see any of the units dying. Also, Svartalfar with loyalty? Ha!

I honestly didn't have any problem with the Obsidian Gate in the Sheaim capital, and think that the chance of it spawning something strong is a nice idea. I almost didn't get rid of it because I think it would really help out the Sheaim. But, the person that added it requested it be removed, so I did. Might I suggest you add it back this turn or next?

I added a tag to a mountain in the middle continent, right above where the Svart used to be, and where Gurid is now hanging out. I plan on putting the Tomb of Sucellus on the hill right to the south of it. I am also going to start removing trees and scorching the terrain next break. Fair warning. If you forget why I am doing this, see my first or second post in this thread.
