Hrm.. I may have messed up my own installation of v2 then, I'll have to reinstall and re-test all the saves which aren't working for me so far. I wouldn't doubt I messed things up since I was attempting to maintain 3 directories.

Alcinus bit sounds really wierd, I'll see if I can replicate it, but for now I assume it is the Immortality/Attacking bug I squashed for B already.
 
The archmage thing sounds like it's pointing to missing art xml.

Also, capturing units with commander promotions will allow them to keep said promotions without a commander. I have a leaderless werewolf with +50% experience gain, hooray.
 
I was right, there is no ART_DEF_UNIT_ARCHMAGE_CLAN_OF_EMBERS in civ4artdefines, which is being called in civ4artstyletypeinfos.xml. Hell yes, I am so awesome.
 
That's odd. In my experience, a missing artdefine causes a CTD on initialization. Perhaps it's related to the complaints of crashing at startup some people have.

Will look into it.
 
Austrin don't have longbows. They have the recurve archer UU. are you saying that's missing too ?

If there's an artdefine pointing to LONGBOW_AUSTRIN, it can probably just be removed. I'm guessing I changed that to recurve archer, and didn't notice the artstyletypeinfos entry.
 
This may have been reported, its a very minor bug, but I didn't see it on the first page. The religious options(normal quick lightning) are in the wrong order under custom game, they go quick, lightning, normal while for other types(domination, culture), they go lightning, quick, normal.

Another minor one(might not be fixable beyond renaming), the merchant trait link goes to the merchant specialist page--Just checked, there no grouping of help files for the civ traits, so even renaming at this point wouldn't help, info on the trait should at least prob be added to the malakam help file?

Edit:VV I believe it is purely cosmetic(in the sense that what it says is what it does, rather than swapping the two), since my options defaulted to lightning religious for my first game(didn't notice), and I won a religious vic at 40%.
 
Bugs i discovered:

  • AI let's a General walk alone into Battle
  • Message: Alcinus was reborn again every at least once per turn - with this odd sound when you lose a unit
  • OOS issues are back on the table.


Balance issue:
Fortresses pop too much // the world is hell overcrowded with Barbs
-> Barbfriendly race gets a huge advancement.
-> Performance is going down.

I believe this has been fixed. Update to Patch B if you're not using it already (was released just a few hours ago)

We both know there's a seperate thread for balance issues.

It should be pointed out in general that the Clan of Embers is getting no xp from killing barbarians that everyone else does. And so they have few quality troops by the time most other civs can have multiple lv6 units before their first real war.

if you're decent at managing your units tactically, and keep a good homeland guard, barbarians are mostly free xp, and will gladly suicide against hilltop warriors
 
yep, i know balance thread.

i wanted to point out the performance issue here.

for me it's getting unplayable in a certain point of time - when every round takes hell long for the ai (and that's when barbs are on the move). i tried playing on smaller maps.
now i ended up playing a tiny map - but it's still getting slower and slower.

but maybe thats just me not sitting in front of a big blue ;)
 
lol my comp seems to run it perfectly fine and my comp is crap lol (havent tried Abashi The Black Dragon... aka my comps downfall with FFH) but i have found a bug or two... not sure if these have been posted but...

Bugs:

  • When exploring a lair on the coast / Ocean with a Drown / Stygian Guard i got the Cage trap outcome... which i thought was a nasty thing for a poor fish monster to be in a cage in the sea, but it seems when i select that unit i can allow him to free himself from the cage, which i thought completely obseleted that outcome.

  • also when playing as Scions of Patria i kept getting CTD whenever i adopted undercouncil alongside another Civic
 
The Chaos Mana, Ice Mana, Creation Mana, Dimensional Mana, and Force Mana tooltips on the main game screen (in the top left area of the screen) all note that their respective "effects are cumulative," but does not mention what these effects are. For every other mana that has an effect, it is listed before this note in the same area.
 
I think you get a small bonus for adept/mage training.
 
  • Armored Cavalary Description looks like: TXT_KEY_TECH_ARMORED_CAVALARY_PEDIA
  • CtD: When capturing a City with a Shadow Unit.
 
Getting a CTD with the Baron when attacking a city, playing as the Austrin on Emperor, I hear the sound that hes won the attack, and then it crashes. Not sure what other info would be relevant in helping fix this. But when he was weaker this didnt happen, now hes at a 16 str and it has happened the last 4 times Ive attacked a city with him.

EDIT: seems like when longbowmen are defending it crashes, maybe when Baron converts an Austrin Longbowman instead of a Recurve Archer it causes the game to freak out and melt down.
 
OOS issues :( :( i had this with the old ffh2....


i hope this will be handled soonest - since i normally just play multiplayer.

somtimes it works to reload - but this time no chance - what a pity was a great map balanced challening teams... :(

i hate oos! :(

i will look into the oos logger thing. but now i'm to sad and to tired to do it immediatly.
