Fall patch

I'm curious, when can we actually EXPECT this patch? What would consist "fall" here? September? October? 20th December?

When did the first G&K patch get released?

Hopefully some fixes to the crashes that has become a new experience for me with BNW. Its highly likely to be related to the GPU decoder option being set to "on". Ever since i turned it off there have been no crashes. Dunno how important that GPU decoder is anyway. Perhaps someone can enlighten me on that one. Oh, and the ever lasting bug where a bomber just circles 5-6 times above the target. It has been there since day one, strangely enough. It gets really tiresome especially now when the AI seem to be using bombers much more often, which ofc is very good in itself imo.

1 November, 2012. So expect it to fall somewhere between 22 September and 21 December.

A thing that should be added is increasing the science bonus of trade routes through technologies, like:

- Philosophy;
- Education
- Printing press
- Scientific method
- Radio
- Computers
- Globalization

One thing that I really hope the devs put in the Fall patch which is INCREDIBLY EASY to implement, not to mention something that should be there already:

See: "Civilziation Selection Bonus Tooltips" mod

Basically, on your startup screen while choosing a Civilization to play with you can see the UA text, but you only get UU/UB/UI images. When you hover over those images with your cursor all it says is this:

"Pyramid" (example, Maya UB)

Why in the world does it not say this:

"Pyramid
:c5production: Cost: 40
:c5gold: Maintenance: 1
:c5faith: Faith: +2
:c5science: Science: +2"

I already know everybody agrees with me on this. This is something that's not really a problem with a lot of the people on CivFanatics who play the game obsessively, but it would go a long with for accessibility for newer people or people who just like the convenience of being reminded like me

This would be such a nice touch, it's so odd that it isn't in already :goodjob:

What, you don't play with a second screen where you look up all this stuff in a wiki while playing?
No, seriously, this is something which should have been in since release. Would be great if the add that with a patch.

There should be a new victory condition called Global Wonder which is some end game production/happiness victory building

Didnt we decide we didnt want that in the game? Isnt that why they removed the stupid utopia project and made culture victory something that makes sense? I do like the world projects you can work on though, the bonuses tend to be amazing

I really wish Firaxis updated the fort and citadel graphics. I mean.,, look they updated worker, trade units, work boat and great person model and icon so that it change thru eras. But the fort! It always look like Vauban-style bastion even if you construct it during Ancient period ... I hope the change the graphic to look more like Krak des Chevalier or at least that castle from Assasin's Creed

It does. It's always a star fort, but that's so you can easily identify it from a normal Fort on the map. It starts off like a medieval castle with crenellations before becoming a modern concrete base with radio masts.

You could argue for an ancient version as well, but most graphics in Civ V have only two eras. As far as I know it's only cargo ships that have three eras of graphics.

Yea this is a no brainer. It has also baffled my mind why you can't group military and nonmilitary units. I mean unless some people find it fun to move great admiral, move warship... move swordsman, move great general...

I hope they remove the "You promised other players to move your troops out of their border, and then broke it!". That's really annoying. I did that to Montezuma cause he settled in my land, and 50 turns later met Venice and they had that negative. I also heard that it lasts through the whole game. That's really annoying. I mean, how the hell does Enrico even knew that I broke a promise?

The last two things we need are modern wonders and US wonders...

I've got my fingers crossed for an aggression (and expansion) buff for the AI, just a little in the early-mid game.

As ever i've also got my fingers crossed for an AI more competent with warfare, but that just aint gonna happen :(

+1...

Even if they have a button that says "Aggressive AI" like they have for Barbarians...

While we're at it, they need to make it so you can name units at any time too. It's really odd you can only do it when you upgrade them

That's because they don't deserve to have a title bestown upon them unless they level.

You might want to rename them after they have leveled... or you might have a different purpose for them.

Not 100% related to this topic but do you know what the best place is for news about an upcoming patch? Or does Firaxis normally stay silent until the patch is actually released?
The news page of civfanatics does not seem to list early info about patches either (and I think there was also a patch in the night of the EU release which is not listed).

While most of the points here are "minor" I think the broken achievements are something which normally should be fixed asap and I am wondering why that's still broken. Not that I was into achievements.
