Fallen Enchantress

LH is WAY better then FE.

I bought it and got hooked, but then A brave new world got released to steal my attention.

While empire management is weaker in this game then it is in Civ5, there are enough other special elements in the game to make it worth playing, and not just in the short term but even in the future as well.

This coming from someone who disliked FE, mind you.

KAEL COME BACK!!! *sobbing*, I need you. I want you.... I miss you!

I want your mod back. I don't know about these standalones coming out. I love your creativity as channeled through constraining medias for some reason. I love your fall from heaven game. I love you! *more sobbing*. Come back and make another FFH :3

I have heard quite a lot of good things about LH, and was considering getting it.

But it seems to requires Steam, so forget it. Too bad. Shame to see the inventor of the "gamer's bill of right" going with the invasive DRM crap.

Steam isn't DRM, it's an online game library. Once you load the game, go in offline mode. You never have to connect to the net again if you don't want to.

 I really need to get my glasses checked, because I seriously must be misreading this.

I honestly don't get it why there are still people who whine about STEAM and having to log in ONCE before you can play your games.

Complaints about STEAM were valid when it was first released and lots and lots of people had no decent internet connection (plus STEAM was back then), but now when next to nobody still uses a dial-up modem and you only need to log in online ONCE before you just set the program to offline mode there are no real problems I have with STEAM.

Get on with the times people, and stop whining.

The only people really upset about Steam are those who lack the funds for capable internet connections. People who play on PC, but lack a decent internet connection, should sincerely consider investing into a console in the future. I heard Xbox180 no longer requires internet connection.

Ah yes, here we go. Anytime someone publicly states that they dislike Steam, out comes the automatic haters and whiners attacks. Let's face a few facts before this thread gets shut down over another Steam flame war.

1) Steam is a type of DRM

2) You do eventually have to connect back to Steam if you want your games patched and updated

3) Just because people disagree with your viewpoints, doesn't make them a whiner. Your opinion isn't the valid one out there.

4) There are actually quite a few people who are upset with Steam but realize that they can't really do anything about. Just because you don't find it a major problem to have only one choice available for something, doesn't mean others are as accepting as you are. My fault actually, I probably should have put a sarcasm smiley before my post.

Or those who are still not brainwashed enough to consider it acceptable to have intrusive DRM and leonine conditions forced into their throat.

Ok I should clarify. It's not "invasive drm crap." It's not even active drm. It's akin to a one time entered cd key. Just pretend to patch a normal game you need to enter your cd key each time and that's about how intrusive it is. To patch a game manually you need internet any way so I don't get the argument about how it sucks to connect to steam. It sucks more to go online and search for patches.

The problem is that I'm not poor and can afford a stable internet connection. Therefore, Steam doesn't bother me.

Either accept market reality or consider a DRM-free past time. I heard tabletop gaming is still going strong.
