When i was still a student (by which i mean: when i still had the honor of still being a student ) i kept thinking that i should become a famous writer by the time i am 20 (started university at 18). I maintained such dreams and views for years to come, but nothing seemed to work. Later, when my first work was published, three years ago at 29, i greeted this with a semi-sad sense. I was not as young anymore, but now i think that it was a very false stance; most writers do not become known until way in their 40s (if they become known at all), so to be so anxious about fame seems to be a trap and little more.
That was my own account of my development in regards to views about fame. What is your own? Do you want, or strive to, be famous? Do you want lasting recognition in the field you may excel in your view? Or do you pass all such thoughts as being in vain?
Personally my own position has a lot to do with my agnosticism, since i would definitely wish a continuation of life after death, whereas if life just ends then obviously all wishes for fame are desperate and ill-conceived in my opinion.
