The Dream
When i was still a student (by which i mean: when i still had the honor of still being a student ) i kept thinking that i should become a famous writer by the time i am 20 (started university at 18). I maintained such dreams and views for years to come, but nothing seemed to work. Later, when my first work was published, three years ago at 29, i greeted this with a semi-sad sense. I was not as young anymore, but now i think that it was a very false stance; most writers do not become known until way in their 40s (if they become known at all), so to be so anxious about fame seems to be a trap and little more.

That was my own account of my development in regards to views about fame. What is your own? Do you want, or strive to, be famous? Do you want lasting recognition in the field you may excel in your view? Or do you pass all such thoughts as being in vain?
Personally my own position has a lot to do with my agnosticism, since i would definitely wish a continuation of life after death, whereas if life just ends then obviously all wishes for fame are desperate and ill-conceived in my opinion.

Hell no. Famous people don't have any privacy.

In terms of programming, database design, dynamic application development, etc.. Not really, I don't really care.

I would love to be remembered for the funny/stupid stuff I say though. That is very unlikely, so I don't *really* care, but that part would be nice, I have to admit.

The way I see it is.. we only have 1 life.. and after that? As far as we know it's over. So go out there and have a good life.

People who worry about fame tend to like their egos stroked. I wouldn't enjoy being famous for that 1 reason I stated initially: My privacy is very important to me.

Rich and not famous, that's the way to go ;)

I would tend to agree, provided that there is no "eternal recurrence" ie an eternal return here in new lives. If there is one i would LOVE to read my own work and then remember who i was.

I'd like to be Internet famous. But from an accomplishment, not me doing something stupid in a viral video.

If you play a musical instrument you could try giving a virtuoso performance.
Alternatively, if you are not a musician, you could begin your own show. People have become famous that way on youtube :)

I have no particular desire to be famous. I am already happy; I can't see any extra pleasure fame would bring me. It's not my motivation. I'm more interested in helping other people be happy. If being famous helped me to help more people be happy than if I had no fame, then fine; otherwise I'm happy with anonymity.

No desire to be famous, except that I want to be famous in one sweet woman's heart.

Maybe a blog. Being a Sporcler/Brony/Civfanatic/Minecrafter/Foodie/Journalist/Improv Actor/Amateur Philosopher should give me plenty to talk about.

That, or be the first to open up a New Mexican restaurant in New York City.

That's not always true. Many billionaires and film directors are famous, but enjoy reasonable amounts of privacy as well.

Yeah, it depends. Somebody's going to recognize you if you're a famous director.

I wouldn't mind being famous, I could do a lot of good if famous.

This is part of my reasoning too these days, although i alluded to a very different genesis of my will to fame. As a known writer i can hope to influence people positively, although i am sure few will read my entire work.

And if you are an actor, or an actress you will be recognized. But you could always live under a fake name and go out with a disguise. Although that is a bit of work to enjoy privacy.

On the flip side, I find many actors live certain lifestyles that put them in the limelight, but then go around and complain they have no privacy. There have been actors that have been able to keep their privacy. Although that involves being reclusive and not having a night life.

Being well known can be realy great help if you have something to offer but the usuall craving for fame is just lame as one wishes it out of pure desire for ego-attention. Its just road to hell. But what one definitely needs I think is the sense that ones life is meaningful and for that one doesnt have to be famous but only be sincere man and work hard in whatever is ones choosen field. The results one can leave up to fate (or God) becouse the sense of detachment itself is a great satisfaction.

That's the thing, a lack of privacy is a potential thing that comes with the territory.

You want to be famous? Fine, but don't complain you don't have any privacy afterwards.
