Fantasy NES: Sekai

Slavic, I'll add your nation ASAP. Sorry about that.

Post or PM? I am guessing that both are acceptable.
d) So are you going to do such basic updates for every turn, while leaving it to us to fill in our respective blanks (that would probably work better than leaving the entire update to us, since there are various probabilities, NPCs and random events to decide upon)?
e) In any case, will we have to post the stories on Sunday or will some delays be acceptable if that's just not practicable?

Actually, Posting is preferable - PMs are difficult for me to read when I have so many of them, so posting your orders is the best.

d.) Yes, you got it - and by the way I will add NPCs to the map very soon. I just didn't want to take up space in case someone else wanted to join.

e.) You can post whenever you want! You don't just have to reply to my update. My update should only be a fraction of the stories going on in Sekai. You can post whenever you want, and since troops and characters can move once a day, that gives players ample room to do other actions while they wait for more purchases.

Slavic Sioux, I couldn't find your location any where. I have a small profile for your kingdom, but no Hex location.

I also need to add Fuschia's city-state. I don't know how I missed that one.

Once I have Slavic's location, and Fuschia's city-state on there, I will add more NPC kingdoms/city-states.

By the way, all the newly-hired troops are assumed to be in the capital, correct? Or can they start at any hex within the kingdom's territory?

Any hex in the kingdom is fine.

das, your latest orders look good.

I have added Fuschia to the map, and I have yet to add Larum's capital name to the map - I will do that ASAP.

I have added several NPC kingdoms and city-states, special item locations, differentiating between: items that are guarded by encampments, which are usually more powerful, lower-grade items guarded by creatures that you don't know yet in some cases, and then... I have added monster lairs!

Monster lairs are dragons, giant spiders, etc. that may be somewhat intelligent and are guarding something of importance, but you don't know what until you uncover some rumors in nearby city-states or areas. If you are afraid of, say, going into a goblin kingdom as a human, just do not act hostile and they might let you pass and even stay at an inn.

So move your character to those spots and you will get special items. You can get special items otherwise, but they will not be as powerful. However, aside from the normal special items (labeled on the map as holes), the other items may risk the life of one of your characters or a severe blowback in his/her stats. So be careful.

The map is looking better already!

That said, while it isn't too much of a problem now, in the near future some basic descriptions of the various characters and nations on the front page would become very useful, as it would likely be somewhat difficult to keep track of all of them.

It really have begun to look quite interesting, this NES. Especially all the dungeons are just craving for me to come and raid them

Thanks das. Yeah, I agree. I've been thinking about backstories for them, but I thought I would introduce them via story. For example, your Malthen kingdom is close to Zalask, and Ragnar is there, so perhaps if Ragnar accepts the mission I have posted, he will uncover some more secrets and history about Zalask (I have something very interesting in mind :)).

I can't wait also to get into the history behind the Coalition.

I would just like to point out that I do have some ideas with regards to what I could do with Mr. Ragnar. Hopefully I will be able to write up a story to the effect soon enough. Thanks for giving me something to write an introductory story with; I was sort of out of ideas on that one.

That is perfectly fine. You can propose your own mission, and he can accept it. Mine leads into another story altogether, but I will see what you have in mind, and maybe the secrets that would have been revealed through mine can be revealed otherwise. Still, be aware that you have that NPC guild in your kingdom, "Scimitar". They will find out, one way or another, through secretive means, what Zalask is up to.

kkmo, you said it would only take a day to get to Kodo, but I counted 5 tiles left to actually get to his lair. So it should atleast take me 3 days to get to him, even with my bonus.

That is my mistake, Ninja Dude. Its because you posted that your troops are moving to K-7. In the future, you can say your troops are moving to F-8, and give me the route and time it will take to get there.

Anyway, I edited my earlier post.

Okay, i'll edit my post to show the route they will take.

Sorry, for the delay I have finnaly got the map up.

Regarding Ragnar - I am unsure of what to do with my character. I will wait and see for tomorrow for whatever job das has to me. The Scimitar offer looks quite promising, although again, it might work against whatever plans das has :) Bottom line, I wait one day, will choose my task tomorrow.

Sounds good, joakim. Slavic, I'll get you on the map ASAP. Where is your capital and what is its name?

Also, do you guys know if I contact the admin, can they get rid of the image limit in a single post? I need a post that will contain 100 images (they are tiny images!), but the limit is 30 IMG tags.

Thank you kkmo :)

Regarding the images, I do not think that is possible. Perhaps it is, but I'm a pessimist, so I think that it isn't allowed.

Still, the administrator in here is Thunderfall - ask him over a PM or something alike it.

I have the place where the capital is and it's name is Salamanica.

I have just done a massive FORMAT ONLY retooling of the rules (all the same rules, just a huge format improvement). I invite you to check it out, especially and most notably, the spells and skills have a nice treat for all of you. :) More updates to formatting, and visual aids, will be coming, along with gradual advancement of the appendices to include NPC information (as it unfolds in story-form, it will be recorded by historians) and "Chapters" we have finished.

I have the place where the capital is and it's name is Salamanica.

I can't find your capital hex location, though.

I also never rolled for you:

Starting Economy: 6200 (rolled a 6)
Territories: 6 (rolled a 3)

Even though a lot of your area is sea, those still count as hexes, so you will either have to choose only 5 of the hexes you surrounded, or let me choose them for you.

You got a pretty powerful roll there. I hope you can handle the challenge of controlling such a powerful sea-kingdom. We shall see. :D

Also, your vague advantage of "all the advantages of three races, but slightly lesser" needs to be changed to a straight up +1 to any type of troop stat, or +2 to any type of troop stat, and -1 to another one. Look at other player examples if you need any help beyond that. I will allow you to have three races, but their constant in-breeding and lack of a pure race will make them terrible politicians with NPCs, and those that are still pure in your kingdom of one race will probably not like the other races. I am thinking a form of segregation in society, in fact. Could prove to be an interesting story.
