Fantasy NES: Sekai

My dwarves don't have a history of cavalry. Like alliances with goblins, it's just not right.

EDIT: It should also be noted that dwarves are not adept with magic.

They can be adept with magic. Your dwarves maybe aren't, but I'm sure there exist dwarves that are. Rebel dwarves. Going against the grain. :D

Growth Rate: ? (is this supposed to be simply for the trade routes and whatnot?)

Growth rate is always a steady 5% unless:
1. I note otherwise in an update.
2. You have constructed marketplaces or other improvements that improve your growth rate (see Improvements & Economy section of the rules).

And the other questions?

EDIT: By the way, did you ever get around to PMing the people that said they joined but didn't as of yet participate? I think that would be useful, at least inasmuch as it will weed out the reluctant and open up spots for any others that would like to jump in.

(are we allowed to research movement spells right from the start?)

Yes. Keep in mind I am editing "Teleportation" to say, "Can only be used once every 7 weeks (7 RL days)." I am also going to remove that they can attach a unit. I think this will adequately balance things out. Also, I'm going to up the cost of the other movement spells past Sprint.

But remember, those spells only effect Mages and Paladins.

Am I going overboard in prices here?

Dorovel microbreweries are beginning shipments again as far West as Venetia. Above you can see a tavern in Malthen, reaping the benefits of these renewed shipments. :D

No, it seems okay to me, if we can invest in the research of a single spell over several turns.

okay I'm back, got alot of reading ahead of me, will try to catch up. hope you didnt' drop me from this NES.

Of course not. I'm not going to drop anyone from this NES. I understand it requires a lot of reading/writing, and I think its best we have a good game rather than a rushed game.

Update coming soon.

I couldn't find the first and second updates, and I couldn't find Dorovel on the map in the 3rd update. Is there a link for the first 2 updates?

The first and second updates are non-existent, they were sort of phantom turns. Update 3 is the first major update, and Dorovel is definitely on the map, south of Glotrith. We are on Turn 3 (but, 4 if you include preliminary updates), so you can, if you want, post in the thread (not PM) your first 4 sets of orders (each character gets 10 spending points for spells/skills each turn, and you do not have any experience points given to you yet).

Do you need me to give you a quest?

What was bestshot again? If he's a chaotic player he'll have plenty to do in Glotrith. The whole western mountain range is filled with war and strange stuff going on. I wouldn't care if he was an order player either, but it would be kind of odd that a human or elf would be in Glotrith.

No, he plays a couple of dwarves, I think from Dorovel, IIRC.

Oh yeah. I remember now. He's that explorer group, right?

He'll have plenty to explore around here then. I wonder if he'll go to I-5 or wherever that shapeshifter is.

Yeah, he could go there to check things out. Might prove to be more interesting than az Kurlan's dwarves. I don't know. Both routes would work just fine.

He can also go south to loot the ruins of the orcish encampment that may or may not show up. ;)

And, finally, I can create a whole other interesting thing for him to do if he needs me to!

And we have an update! Free round of Lokish Lizardmen Blood to all!

@kkmo: What did we find in P-9 that's possibly causing the disruptions in Amaliad? No need to write a starting story about it, I could do that, just tell me the bare details of what I find (as to not bother you much; e.g. "you find a bunch of velociraptors eating merchants" or something). Also, please bear with my slowness.

Your slowness is no problem. It yielded excellent results.

Geez. You really have something against merchants. :D

I actually like posting stories at this point. I'm not quite burnt out yet. So let me post a little blurb about what you are going to start finding there, and then you can continue.

Its going to be Lizardmen. But not Lokish Lizardmen. A different breed.
