im just wondering what genres and movies people like the most.
Post the name of the movie and the genre.

PS no putting down of anyone elses movie and keep it tastefull guys

Anyway:

Film: Fight Club
Genre: err ... well, movie genres were never my strong point.

Dr. Stranglelove, and Monty Python's Holy Grail and Life of Brian. The last two are comedy, the first you can classify as you like.

 

[Ancient Grudge]

Dances with Wolves, Shawshank Redemption and the Green Mile.

I don't know how to classify them, but they are all great movies.

My favourite Movie: Laputa Castle in the Sky (I know that laputa is a bad word in Spanish but the movie certanly is not)

i like Comedy films, most action films have comedic moments so they are good too.
Favourite Film: well i can only think of Naked Gun right now, but there may be a better film i just have a bad memory

My favorite is a tie between the movies. The Godfather, Scarface, and Animal House. Not sure what genre the first two would be, but the last is definately comedy.

Conan (the Barbarian)

I love Heroic Fantasy, and this one demonstrates how great musical score and nice landscapes make for really good immersion.

Arnold also does a good job, he does not talk much and is really a cool barbarian.

I also like novels by Robert E. Howard and David Gemmell, but even people who do not like Heroic Fantasy agree that this movie has something - ten times better than the lousy "Conan the Destroyer".

Heroic Fantasy walks on a narrow path to pure unadulterated kitsch. This movie does it right and does not fall over!

I also like SciFi, like Star Wars, Aliens (especially Aliens II).

So I probably prefer Action Movies, according to this selection.

In Black-White, I recommend "The Longest Day". This movie also never gets boring or old.
