Hey, I was wondering, who is every one favorite artist? and why?

Me, I like Van Gogh (SP?), Picasso, and myself (I'm, not to be unmodist, goooood.). I like Van Gogh because of his use of color, it was one of the things he and I both love. I like Picasso because his paintings really make you think about what they mean and why he did them. And I like my art because I do heavy pencil drawings of lots of things that I like and they look great.

I am done, now please post your favorite. :goodjob:

Toulose-Latrec. Being deformed himself, his work offers a fscinating perspective on beauty/ugliness.

I also like van Gogh (esp. the cafe terrace painting.), well, virtually any expressionist painter. And Geiger.

Are you talking specifically painters or artists in general? "Art" is a big field, no?

I am talking about ALL ART, Blue. I just happen to like painters and myself.

Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher.

I always thought they had a very good "artistic" way of words.

Hard to say.
Am personally a big fan of Stalinist Socialist Realism, and the art-style of the Third Reich, as well as the epic architectural style.

One of my favorite artists is Brom.

Larry Elmore and Clyde Caldwell aren't bad.

A toss up between Michael Brekkart and Giacomo Puccini.

Pablo Picasso! Un artist fantastico!

Como se dice "artist" in espanol?

william turner is the name that comes up in my head. i like the light in his paintings. i also like some of kandinsky´s works, but not all of them. it´s most the shapes i find beautiful.

Marc (or is it Mark?) Chagall.

Michelangelo

Duchamp (weird sense of humor).

in music: the beatles (all of them) and Knopfler
in comedy: monty python

Dmitry Savinoff. Makes computer generated artwork.

Hey Black Fluffy Lion, those are great! I'll have to go investigate more of his work.

My personal favorite is Michael Whelan. He doesn't paint so much as he creates worlds to get lost in.

No sé.

I'm not a big "art" person (at least as far as sculpture and painting is concern) but I am a bit fond of Manet. :king:

Kurt Vonnegut and Julian Barnes really struck me as excellent writers.

You have good taste, Fluffy. :goodjob:

I too shall have to investegate in to this artist's works. Any tips one where to start?
