The egyptians are the best, the extra food boost and the age early wonders really help me get my favorite wonders (Terra cotta army and Versalies) with almost no competition.

I'd have to say the Incas:

Their UU's are exellent with rapid-fire mortars as a siege units as well as their light infantry that is cheap and can kill effectively.

And really, you can't go wrong with getting metal AND wealth from mines as well as a cost refund when your units die. So I'll end up with a ton of resources into the modern ages when I really have to crank out units!

I voted Aztecs because you get resources from an early rush to bump your research or replenish your forces.

The Turks are great for the artilery and fast assimilations, and the Persians never hae to worry about building caravans.

Haven't seen much else yet...

I like Turks because they get free artillery everytime they build new siege workshop (don't remember name of that building). Also greater range and LOS to your artillery is useful.

Russia is good for me because I usually end up on the defensive against human players. Having your opponent wonder "Where's my health going" is extremely useful. That and those pretty Katyusha (*sp.*) rockets.

Also like the American Indian power that gives you extra gold from mines (is it the Maya? I can't remember offhand).

if you want more of a reason to like germany. They have the second most modern unit in Civ3. Best of all it (i beleive) is the first unit to have the blitz ability(Read my signature)

The Romans, Americans, and Germans are my favorites. I love the Marines, Barbarians, and Legions. If the Roman Tank Killer hadn't been scrapped I think these three would be tied for the best UU nations.

What is this tank killer you speak of? Is it something the Romans used to have, and than they took it out? They should've kept it. It sucks that the Romans, one of the greatest civs of all times, only get 3 UNITS!!!!

I like Chinese because of those immediately built caravans, merchants and citizens. (got RoN for present[dance] )

Its really fun to be china on a overcrowded map on infinite recourses-you get infinite troops built instaneously
Yeah, chinas my fav civ to rush, cause you dont have to wait for citizens to be made, and for a late rush you can have large cities already built
