Just a quick experiment, but what is everybody's favorite Ninja Turtle? The Turtles are one of the few pop culture icons in which everybody has a different favorite.

Leonardo- Focused and Disciplined
Raphael- Hot Headed and the Lone Wolf
Donatello- Intelligent and Shy
Michaelangelo- Fun and Free Spirited

Some say that your favorite turtle is a reflection of you, others say you just like the colors.

Leonardo. How he managed never to kill anyone with a 3 foot blade of sharp steel I'll never know.

Drats! I've give away my age you fiend!

Ralphael, always.

...though his sais never struck me as useful.

Which one had which weapon?

Leonardo: Katana
Dontatello: bo
Ralphael: sai
Michaelangelo: Nunchaku

Sword, quarterstaff...trident dagger, and short sticks with chains, if you never learned the words for the weapons. ;)

Mine is Michaelangelo. don't know why. maybe because funnier than other turtles. and master Splinter have my respect :D

I've never watched the show, but using the brief description you gave, Leonardo. I've always been a fan of focus and discipline.

So, sword = leo, stick = don, stabby things = raph, nunchucks = mikey.

Well, I always felt sorry for the guy with a stick, all the others have cool weapons and he just gets a stick? Unlucky. So him.

But the bo is the most practical of the lot, considering the Turtles' emphasis on nonlethality. If I remember correctly, they spent most of their time knocking the bad guys out -- and sometimes, knocking them down was enough. The staff is good for leg sweeps.

This is false in so many ways. Culturally, generationally, even mathematically!

How? Name another show, or even rock band, where one character is the favorite of majority of viewers. Everything from the band Kiss (Gene Simmons) to the Power Rangers (Green Ranger). The only possible exception may be the Avengers or Justice League, but the kinda prove the rule by being entirely populated by fan favs, and even then I'd say Iron Man and Batman are like more than the others.

Any kid from the late 80's to early 90's can usually name drop their favorite turtle without thinking. And when you do, the beauty is that you don't have to explain why, because the turtles all register with us on a personal level in a little bit.

(P.S. I'm not some gigantic comic book nerd, this entire thread stems from a psychology class conversation)

One time a turtle got into my yard, so I put him in the swamp across the street. He tried crawling back to my house across the street, but was crushed by a car. I buried it in my back yard.

I used to be a big Ninja Turtles fan as a kind and I recently re-watched the show. I used to be a big Leonardo fan, but now I'm liking Donatello and Raphael more. Michelangelo is unfortunately my least favorite, but is still a turtle and therefore awesome (which is why I refuse to say dislike or hate or anything like that, it's least favorite!).

I noted the same thing Smellincoffee saw--they use nonlethal tactics. Also, Michelangelo doesn't use his nun-chucks after the third season and starts using the grappling hook. Which is totally lame, dude.
