Features we don't know about yet in civ7

Have we ever learned anything more about the scout's falcon?

This would throw me into a rage 😂
We haven't seen anything to confirm it, but I suspect they are correct; that the Codices/Relics/Artifacts are Great Works and the only Great Works.

First 3 are not the things finalized on release - they'll be patched on each iteration before and after release.

For the last one - we'll probably not have anything other than those legacy points and age-dependent leader abilities.
Well yes, but I assume they will have more than one map script on release and historically there have always been at least a few scenarios. I'm interested in what will be available at release.

Confirmed map scripts so far are:

- Continents Plus (new and old world are both big continents; islands in the middle)
- Terra Incognita (old world is continent, new world can be anything)
- Archipelago (new and old world are both island chains)
- Shuffle (new and old world are both randomized)

And TSL is coming but confirmed not at release.

It’s almost like they know that they’ll bring back artworks in the future, and are already setting things up by having an all-encompassing “Great Works” category.
And probably with a return of the Great People

I gave this a like, but let's not be only snarky about planned future releases.

As long as the base game has an appropriate amount of content, it's actually a good thing that they have specific plans on how to develop the game (vs no development or seat-of-the-pants development)

One thing I would want to know, which was somewhat answered but still confusing, that people didn't mention yet here is how legacy works for distant lands AI civs on Antiquity and Exploration. Especially on exploration as two needs the difference between what is considered homeland and what is distant land, but Ed comment on Exploration stream seemed to indicate there wasn't a inversion (albeit the way he said makes me think he was talking about eventually allowing players, not AI to be able to start on the DL).

My current understanding is that the Distant Lands Civilizations can't participate in the victory paths in Exploration (at least on launch,) but their successors in Modern will be able to compete to win the game.

Albeit that would put them on a possible considerable disadvantage as they won't be able to pick legacies bonuses for the last age. Or maybe they always pick a dark age one? But overall I don't think we have any deciding info on it yet, which is why I want to know more details.

Which sounds like a handicap? We know that you can speed up your final victory project with legacy points earned in previous ages. Are Distant Land civs locked out of that?

Well they could attempt to get the Scientific or Religious Victories... just not the Economic or Military ones (until a proper inversion has been achieved)

I wonder if walls have any use in the modern era. Maybe to highlight which districts are fortified still and needs to be taken in order to conquer a city? Might be a necessary but weird to have an obsolete building be important, when the player overbuilds other old buildings.

I would say no, as per Exploration Stream, 1h56', Age Progress > Victory > Overview screen, there were only the "Homeland" civs listed there, not the 2 from Distant Land.

The Modern Age walls are called "Defensive Fortifications". We saw them in the city build menu

Also, an observation: when units fortify in the Modern Age, they create Cheval de Frise barriers.

By comparison, in Antiquity they make earthworks with stakes, and in Exploration they make palisades.

If a Distant Lands civ can't participate in the Exploration Legacy Paths, they will have tons of Dark Age options to choose from which...could? be beneficial, I suppose?
Well, if I understood correctly in the modern stream, using a Dark Age legacy (ONE) will forfeit ALL your legacy points. I fail to see how that can ever be an interesting choice !
