I've been skimming around through the bug thread and havn't seen a lot of complaints about games going OOS in multiplayer, so maybe its just our installs might have gone a little out of whack. But about every 40 turns or so the game goes OOS. Neither of us have done anything significant besides build some improvements and warriors as it was early in the game. We both have patch k installed also. Anyways, is FF ready for multiplayer yet? This feels the same as the early FFH releases.

What civilizations are you guys playing?

I'm not a part of the Fall Further team but debugging OOS is practically a side-side project of mine, because myself and my team do almost all our testing in MP.

Try the options
- no demons
- no lairs
- compact enforced

With these enabled I almost never get an OOS. And if I get one it can be solved by loading an autosave.

I'm playing Austrin and he's playing Calabim(as usual, guy is as bland as a bowl of grits). Will try playing with those options disabled but that really kills the a lot flavor of the game.

So far the only OOS issue which is outstanding that I know of is that the Kuriotates seem to have issues with deciding which tile they are working, occasionally resulting in a difference in the amount of gold they have without any other differences in the game.

I've actually been experiencing a huge rash of OOS issues as of the latest patch with my group of friends. We haven't had a game get past turn 50 without diving into the OOS cycle. I can't be sure what it is. No Kuriotates in the game, as far as I know.

The description is fairly bland, it's literally totally arbitrary at the beginning of a turn, obviously when a lot of turnover happens with money, technology, built units, etc. But I can give you a few logs of the synch-locked ones, and hopefully you can give me some insight on them. I'm at a total loss =(

Here are three, each a game that got synch locked (where we'd go OOS at the beginning of every single next turn, or synch out as soon as we started up).

There's not a lot to tell about the description, other than what I've already said. If there are any specifics that I'm not aware you're looking for, let me know and I'll try to be forth coming about them.

OOS Logs are automatically generated when an OOS happens, they appear in your BtS folder. Additionally, if you enable logging in your .ini, and select the "Log Random Numbers" multiplayer option, you will get a series of logs in your Log folder which show all random numbers generated during the game.

Keyeth: The logs are useless unless I have a copy from the other player as well to compare them with sadly.

Oh I see. Do you need the logs of the people who went out of synch, or just a random player? We all had the same seed, except for the one person synching out

Okay turns out he didn't have the same ones I did. But we did have these two in common..

I play it fine, the only OSS I'm getting now is because of the new race and when they plant cities.

in response to the thread title: FFH isnt meant for multiplayer yet :p

That really is too bad. My wife and I like playing hot seat games, but I guess we'll have to settle for playing "only" the regular FfH 2. There it seems to work better.

Anyway if this helps in fixing FF for multiplayer in the future:
We played
- Hotseat
- Human players as a team chieftain level (yes that makes it very easy, we just like to relax when we play, not get challenged ;) )
- I (Player one) with Arturus Thorne
- Her with the Svertalfar

The game crashes immediately when the Svertalfar (2nd Player) build their first city or when she tries to build anything in the city.

As I said, not sure if this helps but that was our experience yesterday.

You must patch your mod. That was a problem in the initial release of FF 050.
