Sorry but you will have to deal with the heartless TURNLOG peppered with some hearty COMMENTS!
Pre-turn
* I can't believe it. Whoever decided to build tons of Axemen is a genius.
* If I was following the current map, then I could've sworn this was a small Pangaea and the end of Tokugawa would be the end of the game. WRONG!
* BTW we need more workers.
Heliopolis finishes: War Chariot
Anasazi finishes: Worker
Turn 110 (125 BC)
Heliopolis begins: Axeman
Axeman promoted: City Raider II
Axeman promoted: City Raider II
* In this turn some rehabilitation and roading projects are happening around Ansanzi and Elephantine.
* I change Thebes to grow faster.
Thebes finishes: Axeman
Anasazi grows: 4
Turn 111 (100 BC)
Thebes begins: The Parthenon
* I start Parthenon on Thebes. It seems like the best idea at the moment.
Axeman promoted: Combat I
* We have visual on Kyoto. There seems to be a 'couple' of armies there. Axe fortifies on hill and promotes one star--I only hope Toku will suicide some people at him.
* Moving new units towards forward cities.
Tech learned: Alphabet
Memphis grows: 8
Memphis finishes: Axeman
Heliopolis grows: 7
Axeman defeats (2.30/5): Japanese Axeman
Axeman loses to: Japanese Axeman (5.00/5)
* IBT: Our axe on a hill takes out one of their axes but falls to the next one. Pretty good deal I say, since we have more than Toku does.
Turn 112 (75 BC)
Research begun: Mathematics
Memphis begins: Worker
* I grab the chariots and a couple of Axes from Tokyo, moving them to Kagoshima.
* I sense a lack of improvements around our cities.
Thebes grows: 6
Heliopolis finishes: Axeman
Turn 113 (50 BC)
Heliopolis begins: Axeman
Anasazi grows: 5
Turn 114 (25 BC)
Tokyo begins: Archer
* Toku offers peace for his Math. Since we are researching Math, I decline.
* Attacks begin at Kagoshima.
Axeman defeats (1.40/5): Japanese Archer
Axeman defeats (4.10/5): Japanese Spearman
Razed Kagoshima
* Kagoshima taken without a fuss. Two city raider 2 axes attack and no one dies.
* Farms are ordered around Ansanzi.
* We have free worker from Kagoshima battle, so moving him to Tokyo.
* Our remaining units which are not damaged get to continue across Japanese lands.
* We may be able to siege Tokyo next. Or maybe not...
Elephantine's borders expand
Elephantine finishes: Worker
Edo grows: 3
Turn 115 (0 AD)
Heliopolis finishes: Axeman
Anasazi finishes: Granary
* Units from Edo march to the southern city of Osaka. Units on North end move to top of hill and we can see Kyoto again, now with More Archers (tm) than ever before.
* How the battlefield looks like at the moment as I move troops to cities around Kyoto:
* Wow I take too many risks with small stacks, eh? I bet they will be enough to take/raze Toku's two border cities (not Kyoto of course), then we sue for peace, wait for Construction, re-declare then take out Kyoto with catapult support.
Turn 116 (25 AD)
Heliopolis begins: Courthouse
Anasazi begins: Courthouse
* I order courthouses around our empire. Upkeep is becoming deadly. Ansanzi and Heliopolis are the first to start.
* I actually start a farm on a grassland near Memphis. This is so that the corn is irrigated once we get Civil Service.
Memphis finishes: Worker
Turn 117 (50 AD)
Memphis begins: Library
* Worker comes out of Memphis. I turn on Avoid Growth at Memphis as we don't have enough happiness for more population there. Memphis starts on a lib.
* Memphis worker begins to connect wines nearby.
* Osaka and Satsuma seem to be lightly defended. However, I'm not taking any chances. I'll wait for the extra axeman from Edo.
Axeman promoted: City Raider III
* Hurt axeman at Tokyo picks up city raider 3 and heals.
Tech learned: Mathematics
Anasazi grows: 6
Tokyo's borders expand
IBT: Axeman defeats (1.40/5): Japanese Swordsman
Turn 118 (75 AD)
Research begun: Construction
* After Math, I pick up Construction so we can build cats to attack Tokyo after our planned peace treaty expires.
Axeman promoted: City Raider I
* Odds at Satsuma are not good since IBT a Swordie damaged one of our axes there. Medic axe now starts heal 1 turn.
How the battlefield looks like at the moment:
Turn 119 (100 AD)
Axeman promoted: Combat I
Axeman promoted: City Raider I
Axeman promoted: City Raider I
Axeman promoted: City Raider I
* I grab some City Raider promotions for Axemen near Osaka. A swordie has been recently added to its garrison but it looks like we have a good chance.
How the battlefield looks like at the moment:
* Just when the action is about to begin, my computer almost locks up from all the Photoshopping.
Axeman loses to: Japanese Archer (1.38/3)
Axeman defeats (1.70/5): Japanese Archer
Axeman defeats (1.00/5): Japanese Swordsman
Axeman defeats (0.25/5): Japanese Spearman
War Chariot defeats (2.90/5): Japanese Archer
Captured Osaka (Tokugawa)
* Not bad. Only one city raider axeman died.
* END SUCCESSION!
* One thing... OOPS! I left Ansanzi undefended and it's unhappy. However as you can see, the rehabilitation program around it is going well. I'm moving one of the chariots from the Osaka battle home. Please continue moving it.
Our empire is looking good in the domestic advisor...
