Yo, I'm kind of new with this.

I have a great army and when Steph showed up, I thought "oh well, time to sacrifice some units". He appeared in the easternmost point of a huge overseas colony, the same place where my whole army is actually present.

The problem is that he has Fear which makes it impossible to attack him and his extremely high movement makes the whole ordeal unpredictable. It's not that I'll lose from it (I'm way ahead of everyone else in production and score and currently building the Altar slowly) but it's... Kind of a problem. How the heck does one circumvent this ability?

EDIT: I just figured out that there was a chance that I could be able to attack him. Cool! I killed him violently and are afraid of what's coming up.

Have at least one source of spirit mana. Build an adept. Give them the spirit 1 promotion. They can now cast the spell "courage". This gives the courage promotion to all units in that adept's stack, which makes them immune to the effect of Fear.

Oh thank you! That's much easier. Do the next horsemen have Fear too?

Probably.

Make sure you give a name to whoever killed Stephanos, then use that unit to kill the other horsemen and the avatar of wrath.

Bonus points if said unit is a wolf/warrior/skeleton/etc.

Haha! It was a Tiger, actually. :D I didn't even tame it (You can do that, right?), I converted it with a Command ability. I just won the game off Altar of the Luonnotar though. There was only two evil nations, and the one (Calabim) turned good with Order, so there wasn't much high-scale conflict nor any true Armageddon problems - other than the Mercurians and the Bannor DoWing me while Friendly at some point. I don't know what happened there. They took some of my cities, but were crushed in the end.

Hm, first game and that. Do you want a save game from the last turn?

In the end I microed really poorly and just built things kind of randomly, but I had quite the lead anyways, so that was kind of the reason I did that.

Yeah, the Four Ponies aren't really that much of a problem, provided you prepare for them right. I remember a game when I really buffed them with a lot of first strikes. The last two started to dominate the AI's, razing cities every turn. They didn't reach me, but I lost to Hyborem, who probably gained quite a lot of manes from the Ponies destroying the OO-following Lanun and Hippus!

I really have a lot to learn. This mod is so complicated. I've read a bit about strategies in this forum. It's scary. And very tempting.

Most summons are immune to fear, if you don't want to bother with Spirit Mana.

I'm trying to finish the trophy by killing horsemen; I have an increasing difficulty game as Malakim where game is in hand (I'm waiting for Auric to Ascend so I can slay him too). couldn't find another thread with the info on CFC.

Buboes is parked on a mountain outside of a city. He was able to capture some of my troops but since I've put loyalty on them all he can't. Initially he was attacking also and got down to 10 health, but for 10-15 turns has not attacked (only casting, and getting "spell resisted") each time, but is staying on the mountain right next to city with health 22.8. As Malakim, I don't think I have any flying / impassable terrain units (well, I have a Griffon with S5 I think, and I captured Acheron who doesn't fly).

Help?

I will try a worker, but he didn't already go for a adept I left unguarded.

I also abandoned the city and he didn't leave the mountain(!).

It seems that no magic spells work on him or other horsemen from what I can find. Am I missing any? (I have my four archmages, four Luridus, and Chalid, and all mana available except ice).

druids don't walk on mountain ? (or maybe only in some mods)

Thanks Kiech, I read your suggestion and saw some other posts on CFC and RB by you on this and it worked like a charm.

Spoiler :

He didn't go for the worker and I couldn't build druids since as Malakim/Empyrean I am good.

Very cool! When you absolutely, positively must kill something, the flesh golem is awesome!

for druids :
getting them is easy : convert to OO (you'll only lose chalid :p)
then they can be very very strong: convert all your useless mana nodes to nature... (you already have 2.... out of your 25 other manas, I estimate that 13-16 come from mana nodes..(3from palace, 2 from holy cities (a third holy city being FoL), 3 from unique features) that'll be a total druid str of .. 8+15+2=25 :D 25str is nice for a druid. and you can get 4 of them :D

as for flesh golem : how did you make him this strong ?

the method from kiech is not enough (especially regarding that you didn't give him poison blade nor strong nor bless)
ranger 7 + heroic attack 2 (2) + mithril (4) + flaming arrows (1) total 14
plus combat 5 (100%) + 40% vs demon +25% enchanted blade. +125%, -40 for him
total : 14 +125% = 31 smaller than your screenshot
him : 23 + 80%-40% = 23+40%= 33 or so. bigger than your screenshot

(or enchant blade is deducted so :
14+100%=28 : smaller than your screenshot
23+10% = 25 : smaller than your screenshot

how did you do it ?
you stayed Empy... so no kraken consumption.
maybe you sacrified tier 4 units(1-4 beastmaster for example) before adding mithril and enchant blade and heroic attack ??? ...mmhhhh
