[FfH II Art Team Blog]

looks great! one question though: is he really fighting with his book?

It's definetly a nice piece of work :)

I agree with Demus, I mean, he has a sword right there by his side. Unless it's meant to be like a book of magic because in the pedia entry for the Wilboman hero, it mentions him using magic to 'condition' the thing so that it wouldn't attack his own units, or maybe to keep it from attacking him.

I'm pretty sure the magic mentioned in the Wilboman entry is in fact a fragment of Mulcarn that's wound up in Auric Ulvin's brain, which would enable him to control Mulcarn's former servants like Frost Giants and Frostlings.

Auric is a powerful mage though, and his power is not limited to channeling Ice mana. Remember, he used Sun magic to escape from the Shadowed vale. He is stated as having great but uncontrolled affinity for magic in his youth, so he has probably had to study books of magic to control his power.. I'm guessing that the gods themselves probably aren't limited to channeling their spheres, as it is from their descent from Nemed that humanity gained the ability to channel magic of all spheres.

thanks guys.

he is supposed to do some magic spell casting and stuff later... (Ploe hopefully can take care of that)

Out of interest, is it planned to give the Malakim cavalry and Immortal a recolour like the worker, archer, swordsman et cetera?

While that is bieng mentioned, what about the worker unit for the infernals? It's the vanilla civ graphic atm, although I think Magister said in some other thread that he might use the mane graphic for them n his modmod.

I'm sure it's probably a lower prority right now, but I'm just bringing it up along with those mentoned by Fenboy.

I did get your PM last night though, but I guess it's ok to bring it up here for others.

Anyway, I guess the pit beast could be fixed up or use a new graphic because there is a wierd gap along one side of it which is noticeable in the pedia.

Plus, it uses the same graphics as the Sheaim Manticore unit.

I think that is just due to the alpha channel. I´ll fix it.

yea, it's like a transparent gap along one wing and partially on the side, it's probably the same for the manticore unit as it's the same model. But since the pit beast is going to be replaced eventually, it doesn't have to be fixed for that one, but if you want to, go ahead.

Anyway, for the infernal settler unit, maybe a mixture of forms to represent the variety that the infernals probably have due to thier nature.

Maybe a balor-style unit for the male settler, an imp-style one for the female settler and two manes for the child settlers?

small update o2.o5.o8

This is the Svartalfar Adept. she is designed after a concept Pic Ploeperpengel gave me for Warhammer Dark elves. She will be used in the WH Mod and in FfH II. cheers.

nice :) looks pretty sexy IMO, lol. Pretty fitting for those dark elves, beautiful, but deadly.

No, nope, definetly no. This I do not like :/

It is good for a sorcerer(-es) but not for adept. To powerful, to open. We are talking about first arcane units available to the player, it should be simple, fresh and uncomplicated. The word adept has the meaning like student, pupil, aprentience. This art is great, too great, powerful, to much power. Tone it down please and this one use for the sorcerer(-es).
