Ffh Nes Ii

@orange: take your time, i'll reserve a spot for you since you were in FFH NES1.

You may play the Illians but your leadership must be 'mortal'. (same for cassiel and bannor)

Huh? What about the Calabim if a player takes them? Vampires are immortal...

Do you mean non-angelic? What if the people only think they're an angel? What if they are ruled by an aleged ''angel'' that no one ever sees? :p

I call a slot, now who do I want to play as?

Edit: I've decided to be the Hippus at territory 22

All leaders must be player-derived. You may not play Perpentach or Sabathiel or Queen Alexis. Provide your own leader (who must be derived from the civilization's people- not an angel or demon, but yes a vampire for the calabim). Your leader is limited in scope the same way that your civilization is. An amurite leader can't be an archmage because the amurite people can't even cast spells yet right?

Yay! I really like 'indirect research'.

How long is one turn, both RP-wise and as interval between updates?

So many options... I'd take Amurites or Doviello in 35, but that depends if Thomas takes Illians or Lanun. If he takes Illians, I'll take Lanun instead.

Can we make up our own civs that would fit the FfH universe? ;)

Hm, well I think that there were still people with magical talent, but all books and knowledge of the magic was lost. There could be talented sorcers without any learning (therefore nearly no practical use) and even some quite powerful mages (but not as archmages)..

Once everyone has completed their 'pre-turn' spending we can talk about the first update. Once i get everyone's pre-turn spending, i hope to provide a 'update zero' within 3-4 days maximum. I probably won't be as dedicated as you were Jopa during the 'regular season' but probably more than Jopa during 'exam season'

The first turn will cover years 0-50.

Write a story about your leader or civilization if you want to 'break the mold' but don't use stuff from fall further mod mod.

To be honest, some civilizations - Clowns, Kurios and to lesser extend Illians and Grigori - Are defined by their vanila leaders.

Sorry, but not what i had said at all.

Amurites, province 32
Cevedes will be near the forke in the left river (to the left of the 3)
research towards mysticism and scolarship.
expand into province 30, and build Nimirail, connecting with roads (120? gold)
I will also buy a farm near cevedes and buy 1 priority slot in Cevedes for agriculture.
the rest of the gold is saced.

Kylorin left us abandoned after the age of ice. He took our finest men, and went to kill the fallen god, but none have returned. They must have been successful, for the Ice is gone, but that is but a small reward.
Kylorin had led the Amurite through the age of ice. His children are among us. His blood is that of the Amurite.
We were forced from our homes by the rising water. I, Thomas, Child of Kylorin and Lord of the Amurites, have decreed that the ruins of the old illian Capital will serve us well as a new city. We have had no trouble ousting the remnents of the illians. Without thier god, they are nothing. In honor of our past, this City has been renamed Cevedes.
This world is Harsh, and no less dangerous for the lack of ice. In response to this, i have set some of the people to try to reconnect with our city of Nimirail to the south. I have also decreed that an attempt is made to start to farm the land around cevedes.

Do like Thomas did. Your leader left you after 'defining the people' then develop a new leadership.

Isn't it better to let the players have creative licence with their leaders? Obviously they must be within the tech level where appropriate but TBH most of the leaders in FFH are immortal in some way or another and it would be annoying if every player had to make a new leader more or less every turn. I'll most likely make my own leader but I will refer to the ffh leaders regularly. Also it would be appropriate for me to be ruled by capria for the first few turns - she has just lead the bannor out of hell afterall.

i think differences will revolve around UB and UU. i'm not going to just say that all amurite mages are better or all lanun boats are better.

I have a hard time accepting that ANYTHING could limitYOUR creativity despite whatever limitations are placed.
I'm gonna stick to my guns on this. Call it an experiment in first time modding.

If I take Lanun, can they sail, and how well can they sail? Can they sail from 10 to 15/14 or from 15 to 16? It wouldn't make sense to have nonsailing captain ...

@ JOPA: sailing on that scale would not be possible without substantial investment in 'exploration and trade' technology. If you take the Lanun however, you can direct your research there directly instead of all throughout the 'eploration and trade' tree but you'll still need to generate research points (either directly over time or as a one-off payment during the first turn- see post 14) So if you start in a central island, you will be isolated for awhile. this is just like the lanun in the video game FFH so i think its appropriate.

@Thomas berubug:
you didn't spend anything on additional techs or population. this is the one and only opportunity you will have to transfer gold directly into techs or population. again, see post 14

I'm not sure I agree with this entirely... I mean, there are some civs that are just better at some things than others. Amurites/mages, Lanun/boats, Hippus/cavalry, elves/archers, etc. Not all (or even most) of these have UU's in their speciality - the Lanun don't have a unique boat, and the only unique mounted unit for the Hippus is the mercenary.

Also, what about those civilisations whose bonuses aren't really tied into units or buildings? The most obvious of these would be the Sidar, but thought has to be given to the Bannor, the Grigori, and the Doviello as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a jerk about this. I just enjoy the variety of FFH, and would like it to extend to this NES.

Who says you have to stick to ffh UUs and UBs? Presumably you can invent your own? In FfhNes I never even considered a Moroi unit until the amurite crisis and I don't have a breeding pit UB...

@ Orange, Ekolite:
you both make great arguments.

We'll take it on a case by case basis, and yes you are free to invent new UU & UB.
