[MOD] FFH TweakMod

Idea for a Hippus event.

Unicorn Maiden. Cash in on the horns and gain a hunter, or use as steeds (free promotion)

Maybe we should post some general ideas to help out.

Posting ideas would be great. The unicorn event, though, sounds a bit rare. I want these events to recur, like the werewolf ones. They should also be something specific to the culture of the civilization -- events based off the little quirks of society. Here's a few I came up with:

Spoiler :

Doviello:
One of our Beastmen is fornicating with wolves. He's been driven completely feral.
(no event results yet, probably get Feral promotion or spawn wolves)

Elohim
Immigrants have arrived from a neaby land. (one city becomes tagged as a civilization you have open borders with).

Hippus
A strong breed of Mustang have moved onto our normal stomping grounds.
(a horse resource is created)

One of our horsemen has been contracted for mercenary work.
(Unit gains Hidden Nationality and Bounty Hunter).

Lurchurip:
During inspection, a golem sneezed. Our craftsdwarves are bewildered. What should we do?
(no event results yet)

Sidar:
One of our units has faded into nothingness.
(Unit gains Hidden)

How about these?

Lanun: One of our ships unpopular captains has had a mutiny
Ships crew promotion changes (gains exp and damaged?)

Sheaim: A one of our Pyre Zombies' has bloated uncontrollably.
A Pyre Zombie gains the heavy Promotion

Illians: Frostlings have sworn their loyalty to the new God of Winter
Gain a frostling. (archer/wolf rider? Maybe give them the strong promotion)

Lsjsofar: A wild animal has formed an attachemnt with one of our warriors.
Gain an animal unit with the loyalty promotion.

The problem with the Mustang one is that Hippus start with horses, and if it's spammed, you'd have horsies all over the map.

I don't see that much of a problem coming from the horse one. Even if it did happen four or five times (the most I've ever seen an event happen in a game), it just means the Hippus have a lot of horses to trade. I think it's actually thematically fitting for the Hippus lands to have more horse resources than anyone else.

I think the "golem sneezed" event should pick a random golem, (not barnaxus), replace golem with dwarven promo, add canibalize and mutated. Its a golem that gained life! dwarven life! or maybe he was really a dwarf to start with ... hehehe I smell mad scientist ^_^

I like the hippus horse resource one ... my map alpha gives hippus the horse resources, so the only ways for other civs to gain horse resource is to either grab nearby hippi land, or to trade with the hippus [ later being a bit easier ;) ]

I have another one for the hippus. "Recently our people have been honoring a hippus champion. He has proven a fine warlord, and would prove a noble clan leader." random highlevel horse unit gains the strong promotion, (or to be more fair valor promotoin, plus a free promotion- if strong seems to OP)

Illians:-here is a two parter. More common is "a rare frost giant has appeared!" where a very passive barb unit with HN and beast unitcombat is spawned on an unimproved Ice tile. if it could not attack the Illians, but roam and perhaps kill/attack others in that enter the Illian ice, would be cool. Also, if it has a 20% chance to be captured if someone with "winterborne" promotion kills it. You could have winterborne give a 20% chance to capture frost giants.

second part is, A Frost Giant has heard the call of winter! may he unite with the Hand! prereq is the WhiteHand ritual must be completed. A random frostgiant, created by the aforementioned event, would join Illian control, become controlled by the Illian player.

Calabim: "the cattle are revolting!" calabim HAVE to have this one, its just so flavorful and cute. Anyways, a result should be some level of population being lost, and the last minute enforcer to join the map as a unit, maybe a Moroi with some niche promos, like cannibalize and unholy taint.

"two rival vampire lords are having a feud" - chance nothing happens, chance a high level barbarian vampire is created, chance a vampire under your control is created. might require feudalism as a tech prereq?

Sheiam: "The goddess of magic has showered us with gifts!" - a random high level unit gains the escape ability/spell.

"Peasants have heard enemy propaganda, and are staging a revolt!!" -X population, recieve X pyre zombies.

Lanun: "Hannah the Irin and a boat captain got into a fight!" two options, and event cannot happen to the Black Wind (since hannah admirals the black wind, ahaha) ..... first option, you side with hannah, and lose the boat. second option, hannah gets mad, and 2 barbarian krakens appear near the boat. maybe a barbarian speaker as well :p.

"The captain of X seaharbor has gained some renown!" high level boat of X coastal city gains valor and/or hero promotion.

Sidar: "an archivist has emerged from his hidden libraries to join the public cause" either recieve +2 beakers for library, or recieve a hunter/ranger with perfect sight promotion.

"a unit has lost control of their visibility!" random low level unit gains hidden promotion.

I think that 4 Annoyances, I mean Horsemen, need to be buffed a bit. Same with Auric Ascended. They are worthy of some innate First Strikes to make them less susceptible to zerg rush. In my personal modifications, I also gave the 4 Horsies some collateral damage, but maybe that's an overkill - I haven't tested them yet. Maybe they also should ignore building defense.

with the horsemen, I think the simplest solution would be to tweak their AI to not target a unit inside a city unless 95% odds. In fact, simply having the AI treat them as heroes "might" do the trick, although I doubt it. More of an exploratory, destroying the countryside is what im thinking of. Also, a few innate first strikes would do wonders. (like +3 first strike chances)

As for Auric, giving him a constant 5 first strikes, in addition to making his snowfall spell permanently effect the ground into ice, it would make him a much better toy.

I doubt it too - the AI sucks with their heroes. And I agree with the innate first strikes. I do think that they need to have the bIgnoreBuldingDefense tag too. Maybe even Blitz, although I'm afraid it will cause the AI to attack more recklessly.

Manes' "Add to City" spell needs more AI weight. Also, maybe Infernal palace should give +10 culture to help the Hyborem AI when he spawns squeezed between two nations.

The AI also needs a bigger weight on Mobility promotion as well. With the AI's foot units taking that promotion, it's harder for me to fight them.

When Hybo usually spawns, there aren't much barbarian cities left. Also, how can he be at peace with Barbarians when razing their cities?

There are several usually barbarians cities left when I play as Hyborem. Playing Barbarian World, Classical Age, Advanced Start games with a whole lot of points to buy stuff with helps. (The barbarian cities also all get much better defenders, especially when I made the code give one melee and one archery units inttead of 2 melee.)

You could easily give him a python spell that destroys cities and gives him manes.

What's all this about Basium being able to raze cities for Angels? Are you taking about something specific to this modmod, or just the normal way angels and manes are given when a city is razed, based on the city's population and the player's alignment.

I like the Idea of Hyborem razing barb cities for manes, as well as gain perm peace with the barbs. It would compliment the mechanic where the Avatar of Wrath takes over a city and sits there. When you have a sizable force to accompany the Avatar, you raze the city he was in and move forward.

I gave the Mercurians the ability to raze cities with disorder, so long as they weren't the ones who founded the city. It gives them Angels as though it were originally owned by a Good player (and denies Manes for the Infernals). Gameplay-wise, you no longer have to attack Good players for your mechanic to work. Attacking Evil cities produces Angels just as well.

It always bothered me that the demons could betray you. It ruins the fun of ending the world.

I always delete the code that makes the Barbarian State turn on anyone who gets too strong. You could still declare war on them though.

Once thing that really annoys me is how forming a Permanent Alliance with a non-barbarian trait leader (or accepting one as a vassal peacefully, but not though capitulation, iirc) will cause a barbarian trait leader to declare war on the barbs rather than giving the other leader a peace treaty. Does anyone know how to change that?

I'd use the functions vassalState and changeWar in CvEventManager. vassalState can just re-align the vassal/master with barbarians, and changeWar can calculate whether or not a barbarian team should have peace, then reassign it for the player and the team.

In terms of term speed, I haven't noticed any difference between this and vanilla.

Strange, after I import all the Elohim stuff to my files, the game CTD's after the turn in which Elohim (no matter by whom controlled) found a city near a UF. If I take the mechanics of establishing settlement out while keeping the rest, it worked fine before, but now CTD's too. I might have to reapply everything. Or just to install the whole modmod. :)

I don't like the change of Devout to a Scout, though.

EDIT: Strange, the modmod crashes on me, too... Gotta reinstall FfH.

After reinstalling everything and installing the whole TweakMod, it still CTD's after building an Elohim city next to a UF and pressing enter.
