My word, it's been a long time since I've posted here instead of lurking...

So, I'm now in a position where I may find myself DMing a game of D&D, and like many before me, I've chosen to do it in Erebus, because it's got too much awesome lore not to use. However, my question is this: Is there any official, if bare, map? Just some kind of overview of the worldshape and where each Civ roughly lives?

There is no official map of Erebus. The closest thing would be the maps found in the scenarios. There are also some pedia entries that could be used to piece together maps, but I don't know how consistent it all is.

Erebus is an infinite plane.

The Bannor have the largest empire (at least until Decius conquers and unites enough other nations), even though they have not reconquered much of their territory from the Age of Magic, which is now held by their neighbors the Clan of Embers. The Cliffs of Hastur marks the border between Bannor and Balseraph lands. The Lanun used to control the coasts of the Bannor's continent, but their cities were conquered and assimilated by the Bannor after a war to purge them of the Overlords. They still control coasts and islands elsewhere around the Aegean sea. The Grigori also live near the Bannor. The Malakim and Calabim dwell in and around the Desert of Myrh, which is across the sea from the Bannor Empire. I think that most of the civilizations in the game may be on the same continent as this desert. The Elohim and Sheaim live in more fertile lands on the opposite side of the Desert as the sea that Decius crossed to get there when fleeing the Bannor empire. The Mercurians are initially summoned in Elohim lands, although a second Mercurian gate was later opened elsewhere by the Overcouncil (presumably in Malakim-held territory). The mist filled marshy lowland home of the Sidar is separated from the Desert of Myrh by the Deruptus Mountains, which is home to the Khazad. The Hippus dwell mostly in the foothills of these mountains, possibly isolating the Khazad from their Luchuirp cousins. (We know the least about the location of the Luchuirp, but the horselords are long time enemies of the Khazad and did capture and sell Beeri to be a slave to Perpentach.) The Hippus have lost control of some of these hills to their Amurite and Kuriotate neighbors. The Amurites have a sea border on the opposite side of their empire as the land border from which they were attacked by the Infernal. On the opposite side of the Desert of Myrh as the Deruptus Mountains is the Umbrawood, which is home to the Ljosalfar and Svartalfar. The Svartalfar portion is closer to the desert. The Calabim and the Doviello live not far from there. The Whispering Wood (home of the Well of Shadows, where the Once Elves live) is in a wilderness between the Ljosalfar and Illian empires, near where Auric Ulvin's home town of Brigdarrow stood before it was destroyed by goblins hired by a certain Sheaim minor leader.

The Fane of the Lessers is far across the sea from both Bannor and Malakim lands. This region is technically part of Erebus but seems more like hell. It has been occupied by demons since the time of the Godswar.

The Dead Lands are what has become of the Isle of Nemora. This remote island was once the lushest paradise in Erebus, but when Tebryn Arbandi moved in and sealed the Well of Creation it became nearly as hellish as the Fane of the Lessers.

Thanks Magister. When I saw you'd replied, I was very hopeful, and you didn't disappoint, as usual!

I don't mind at all how accurate it is, really, just as long as it makes some kind of sense lore-wise. I will start drafting a map as soon as I can. (though it won't be any good, of course. Can't draw for toffee :P)

There are a few unofficial Erebus maps in the modmod, scenario and maps subforum, though. One of them will probably suit you.

actually, there is one

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=247328

which is based on the maps found in the above mentioned PDF

Nikis-Knight was part of the FFH team, so this is about as official as it can get

that map unfortunately won't work with the current FFH version afaik... but the screenshots give a nice idea of how Erebus would look like ( although I think it portraits a cylindrical map instead of a flat one  )
