FfH2 0.22 Bug Thread

Alas, Loki's runaway is still broken with patch d. It comes up that he retreats, but also that he is destroyed. After the combat, he is gone, so destroyed wins out over running away.

edit - after reloading the same game, he was later attacked by an assassin. He did run away, but was damaged in the attack. In previous versions, I don't remember him ever taking any hits.
 
Patch c:

The Clan of Embers (Sheelba) captured and razed Acheron's city, gaining the Dragon's Horde unit. Appearently the AI doesn't know what to do with it, since it has been running around my territory for many, many turns already (open borders, also the route back to her cities is open for her - all other units moved back there).

It's so tempting to declare war and take it... but she's way too strong right now. :P

This also makes for very quick War Weariness gain. Loki is generally very useful hanging around behind the lines, disrupting reinforcements on their way to the front - with the way it works now, he counts as "dying in enemy territory" every time he flees, so the War Weariness counter increases. I had it upto around +11 unhappy after around 20 turns of war (and the enemy declared - which slows down the gain rate).
 
Only able to create only one forest with priests ! and even if the forest is finished to grow... is it normal ? if yes why not one per priest ?

Number of wolves still grows as exponent. If there is no program limit for their population density they can breed up to astronomical numbers in some localized areas and slow down the PC.
 
I just patched it to d and everytime I start a new game, before I click on the "play game" the intro video for Civ 4 decides to play...

I plan to reinstall the entire mod anyway, given that when I first downloaded the mod it installed to the 021 foldoer and all the patches now target 022 folder >>
 
A very minor issue but playing as Perpentach defender is one of my traits right now. I just got a warrior from a hut far outside my borders and he started with the homeland promotion. (Lucky me, now he'll die to that spider instead of my scout ;))
 
You can ignore my video thing. It was the whole patching and the different folder names. I redownloaded 022 main exe and then patched. Now I get that FFH movie.
 
This is much more speculative, but there may also be something wrong in the combat calculus. I'm losing 100% of my warrior fights against early skellies regardless of defensive edge - a magic resistant warrior on a forested hill with full fortification should effectively be a strength 4 vs. 2.8, yes?

The combat odds seems very optimistic. I consider 75% bad odds, cause I lose most of the time when I attack at 75%. Even at 90% I am unsure if I am going to win. 97-99% seems to win most of the time, but its when you lose here that it hurts the most.
 
I've run into a problem playing as Calabim trying to capture the Order holy city. Whenever I capture it the game crashes. Not sure what's up. Save attached.

Something is still wonky with the raze city mechanic when you're playing as Ashen Veil. I just razed a size 12 Bannor (Runes) city and the AC went from 11 to 12 and immediately back to 11.

Did you capture it with Mardero (Ashen Veil evangelist)? You may have ended up spreading the Ashen Veil to the city if you did and then razed it while it had the Ashen Veil, giving you your result (+1 AC, -1 AC).
 
I am at peace with the Barbarians and had captured a Bear. The Bear shared the tile of my Worgrider who had captured it (Subdue Animal transfers from Goblin to Worgrider!!). A Barbarian Bear then attacked my hidden nationality Bear. But instead of combating the Bear it took out my Worgrider instead. After the action I was still at peace with the Barbarians.
 
Wow, that's interesting. The barbarian unit wanted to attack the HN unit, but as it was an HN unit itself, it ended up attacking you... Heh, can't say I've ever seen that happen before.
 
I think the error must have happened in the 'choose defender' routine. Since the Worgrider was strongest that was the unit that battled even though it wasn't an eligible unit for the AI Barb to attack.

Hmmm I dont think Ive ever had a Orc or Lizardman etc ever attack one of my HN Animals. I think only the Animals have attacked them?? I'll use WB and find out if other Barbs will attack my HN Animals. I'll edit in my findings here.
 
Gamestation, nope, but if that happens that's a bug too. I conquered it with a plain old summoned lizardman.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't be at peace with animal barbarian units, only with the orcs. The animals won't like you more if you're a barbarian after all.

If you are at peace with the barbarians, the animals won't attack you, unless your unit have Hidden nationality. But you can attack them any time you want. (And as long as you keep picking the No not really... option you wont declare war on the barbs)
