FfH2 0.30 Bug Thread

No crash for me.

Hello all, been away a couple of days, now I can finally get back to Shadow! ;)

I applied the patch and retried that game ... still crashing!
Maybe someone else than Kael could give it a try? Could it be a missing file that Kael has on his system but wasn't included in the DL? That's the only thing I can think of to explain this..

Also found another little bug: playing as Sidar my units retain the Defender promotion even when they're not on my territory.

That's not a bug, that's a feature. They've managed to get promotions to be able to only give you the benefit inside your borders, so they no longer have to remove the promotion when you leave them...This makes it very nice for building new cities, because you no longer have to shuffle your defenders around inside your borders to reapply the promotion.

Negative. Played against them in a game. He had the promotion outside his borders as mentioned and (!) used it to run away from combat with his 10% withdrawel chance.
But I'm not sure if that's intended or not. ;)

I conquered a city, which was ruled by a superboosted orthus
The conquest was cultural and as such orthus disapeared along with his axe (since he wasnt killed)/maybe some invisible unit killed him, but i didnt get Orthus was killed message.

Later I lost this city to khazad and after winning it back i found i still had the dwarven vault(empty) there.

Due to some reason, i cant switch council membership civic even if i conquered dies diei, and have both honor and deception discovered.
If i try to change other civic and membership civic, game ignores me. I can change religion (put back the counter for how long till next eligible revolution), i can change regular civic, but if i try membership, i get ignored.

Numerous crashes on loading, but that might be due to my lame laptop discarding a ram slot again....

BTW can someone give a hint on how to
a) found the brotherhood guild? The pedia tells how it works, but not what event starts it.
b) properly found Gaelans circle? with all requirements?
I got the event with the apprentice, had 2 options, so i made the aprentice guildmaster, got +2 beakers on mage guild, but nothing eversince and its been 100 turns... even built alchemy guild in the city.
Also the pedia says that Gaelen cant be built, but has to be upgraded from a L4 unit... which one? Adept? Mage? Does Wizard apply too?

Yeah, the withdrawal chance sticks around everywhere, but the strength bonus is only granted inside your borders.
 
Minor thing: upon game start as Faeryl, my Scout was placed on top of a Barrow.
 
Upon trying to start up Patch a (either by going into Civ IV BtS and opening it manually, or by using the shortcut), I get a whole bunch of error messages like this:

They cycle through what seems to be an abbreviation of each religion's name after the "ERA_" and repeat several times. Is this a known issue? Is it even a bug in the mod?
Sorry I don't have more technical expertise to provide further information...

Edit: I looked up the code it mentioned, and I think it has something to do with diplomacy music?

Edit 2: Further research, and I suspect it may be a patching problem, but the Firaxis website a) won't let me download 3.13 and b) I bought it from Direct2Drive, and apparently it isn't available for digitally distributed copies of the game. Can anyone help?

this is a well-known bug, caused by the Hippus world spell. It should be fixed in the next patch. The other ones, haven't got a clue :crazyeye:

another attempt, another OOS during multiplayer. Could it be caused by patch a? My buddy and I played a multiplayer before the patch, it was running fine.

Anyway, another save game to play around with ;o)

The attached savegame crashes Beyond the Sword for me on ending the current turn. This is with patch a installed.

Also, and this may be intentional as I have no idea what the effects of the guild are supposed to be, the icon for the Aeron's Bounty guild does not appear on cities it has spread to beyond its initial founding (i.e. its homecity, which correctly displays the snazzy green-reptile-eye-and-a-sword-on-a-blue-background icon, with the home town indicator of a little yellow star overlay). The mechanics for it seem fine otherwise, as using the pseudo-spell of the unit spreading it to a city causes 25 gold to be deducted from the treasury and the name of the city it has spread to does appears in the corporations tab.
 
- Orthus attacked me from the barb city and lost. After the battle his axe have been in the city. Did he forgot it at home before the attack?

- Event "talented carnival performer". I was able to get the disciple of leaves before FoL was founded. But did not get promised mobility I for the disciple. Edit: After I applied it to spread FoL in my city, has been report: "Fol was founded" but with no holy city.

- Looks like mines now are also elven: can be built (by Svartalfar) over the forest without removing it and before bronze working. Looks overpowered.

- Event "healing salve" works even if unit already have this potion. Is said: "you can not afford..."
 
I'm playing on Settler level. On turn 128 my town of Bruti expanded and exposed a Broken Sepulcher with 4 wraiths and Barbatos the Lich in it. I know this game has a lot of variation between one game and the next but to be playing on such an easy level and finding this; it seemed out of character. Should someone playing at this level of difficulty be expected to see this happen from time to time?

- first I razed an Illian city, the defender guild was found [it is too late for me to think about the corect name], then I captured an Illian city with that guild present, for next 3 turns I recived an adept from the guild, seems to be wrong, I was the invader, the oppresor, shouldnt the Illians get free units?

- saw the red dragon wandering the country side

- the ratchacthers guild was founded in turn 7 but I recon it was cause barbarian world was on and a city next door was already size 5 [it got the guild], cult of the dragon was founded on turn 14 togheder or right after Acheron

Still getting the OOS errors even with hallowed ground and compact enforced on, apparantly it is something else causing it. We even get OOS errors when nothing at all happens that turn.

Attachment is my 2 player internet game, gets OOS about once every 20-50 turns.

Getting visibility in foreign cities (like passive espionage) Is this some undocumented effect of the Undercouncil?

Catapults don't cause collateral damage to other hidden nationality units in the tile

Can bombard city defenses when having 0 move points

"Declare war on..." appears twice for same target in the council voting (undercouncil)

Marksman (assassins, ghosts) kill workers and equipment before military targets

Shrine of the Champion doesn't grant free promotion to non-Arcane units (related to removal of free promotion icon?)

Icon for religion (council of Esus) not showing in unit info panel (shows correctly on mouseover)

"Mutual military struggle..." diplomacy bonus doesn't clear after the mutual enemy is destroyed (is this intended?)

council vote (overcouncil) for "end the war against...civ" doesn't clear off the choose vote list when the civ is destroyed
 
I was looking at the undercouncil votes in the xml and noticed that the slave trade vote doesn't set flags the way that it should.

Orthus's axe can be picked up on the turn a unit attacks. This means that, because it now is dropped on the same square as the unit, you can pass it between all your forces as they attack.
 
18 pages of bug reports, thats a lot of reading.

First, thanks to everyone who is reporting issues. Please keep checking the first post to make sure the issue isnt already fixed in the coming patch or listed on the unreoslved issues list. I tried to update the first post with both to let you guys know what I've already fixed or what I have reproduced and know about so that we don't have to keep reporting them.

At this stage I have to prioritize issues so some may get dropped because other issues are more pressing. And as much as I would love to respond to each post in this thread, if I did that I would never actually have time to fix anything :crazyeye:

Orthos was camped alone within a neighbors border and I attacked and killed him. His axe was left where he was and when I went to retrieve it I got the "Do You Want To Declare War?" prompt for entering another's territory. In .25 I received the prompt before I attacked and was not able to attack someone I was at War with if they were in another's territory.
Are we now able to attack someone we're at war with while they're in another's territory? Is this because he's Barbarian (which wouldn't make sense)?
