FfH2 0.30 Bug Thread

Did you build Blood of the Phoenix? That is exactly what Blood of the Phoenix is supposed to do. (The BotP version is a one shot immortality, after they die and get reborn they lose the immortal promotion.)

Thanks EvilBob! I did built Blood of the Phoenix. Mouse over tip on the build list wasn't informative I intended to look it up in the pedia before it is completed but I was occupied with other things

Edit: In general I hope late game projects are better documented especially their mouse-over tips. Things get quite overwhelming by this time with so many cities and units to manage.

I've noticed that too, but I think it's only the withdrawal that works outside borders. (but I didn't really pay attention)

That is entirely possible, I haven't actually checked if the combat odds list a bonus for Homeland. But the withdrawal most certainly works, because I had a Warrior escorting a Settler withdraw from combat and let the Settler get eaten.

v0.30e

- In new game with Elohim. I located Orthus to the south of my borders. I stacked five Axes and rushed south to meet him. (I had a design to get his axe then rush the Deveiolo who were right in the same area). I stationed my axes in a fort (in no man's land) across the river letting him kill two then attacked with the remaining three still grouped together. I win the combat and I pick his axe. Now all three of my axes had the axe!! Each got the extra +1 fire attack!

- Not sure if it is a bug or not. In my game with Ljosalfar, Elohim are my vassal. When they use their world spell even I can't enter their lands. So is the spell supposed to disable master rights and open borders agreement as well?

- Another thing about Orthus Axe. As an object now it gets the nationality of the one who first take it. If dropped and left alone in the wilderness it still keeps its nationality so if another civ unit would like to pick it it can't do that without declaring war on the original civ! It works the same with other objects as well.

Unless I'm missing something Enraged still has no way to go away. bRemovedByCombat is zero and iExpireChance is zero. This means that werewolves, lunatics, units affected by asylum at creation are all guaranteed to turn barbarian.

This is as it should be. The withdraw chance is suppose to work everywhere. The defensive bonus however should only work inside your borders.

I'm not entirely sure about this but I think the spell Loyalty should work.

Not sure if this counts as a bug per se, but.. I'm playing the Svartalfar, and when I build cottages in forests that removes the forests visually. They are still there, mind, but once the cottages grow you can't see the forests at all. It makes it kind of hard to keep track of where they are if you can't see them, IMHO.

.30e, Ljosalfar.
Starting settler has a Sentry promotion, but tiles that must be visible still covered by fog.

Huh. Really? 'cause I know with certainty that in pre-Shadow (dunno about the non-Shadow BtS version because I never played that one) the Homeland promotion disappeared when I moved units outside my borders. Guess that's new then.

Not sure if this is really a "bug", but it certainly is weird:

Hyborem becoming a Vassal of the Elohim, and declaring war on the Sheim.

The ai is still not using "take axe" after killing orthus, even after moving onto the square with the axe and capturing it. And taking axe that belongs to another player has no penalty, such as declaring war.

Edit: Actually, sometimes they are taking the axe. Maybe only not if they don't have movement left?

For some reason, every time I go to start a game, the program shuts itself down...

Edit: I'm stupid. I forgot to update to BtS 3.13...

Hi guys.
Shadow is awesome. Great job. My hat's off to you :king: .
However, it seems pretty heavy in multiplayer. Haven't had any problems before but now the time between turns are lengthy and often the game freezes/times out and crashes. This happens after some 200 turns and onward. Have seen some similar mentions before but no answers. Could you give me some tips?
My computer is 3.2 GHz, 1.5 Gb RAM. Connection is > 8Mbit/s effectively.
My friends specs are equal or better.

Cheers
Rankel

I haven't located any information which would explain this. With patch E. Playing Charadon, evil since the beginning of the game. Once I finish researching Deception, I should be able to join the undercouncil, but whenever I try to change to it, nothing happens. No global message and when I go back to the civic menu, it still shows no membership.

Units with the Marksman promotion destroy any equipment in the stacks they're attacking. Might I suggest giving them some sort of anti-Guardsman promotion preventing them from being targeted by assassins etc.?
Meteors destroy equipment too: I cast meteor storm to soften up Barbartos, but the second one got a lucky roll and killed him. I tried to send the third one to start on the city defenses of the nearby barbarian city, but instead of flying over Barbartos' staff, the meteor nuked it instead.

Alazkan the Assassin can't be grouped with other units. Is this some sort of temporary fix so that you don't create illusions of your entire group?

Certain events seem to not work. The event where you can do human testing to get extra health (-2 unhappiness, 90% chance to make all your cities 2 healthier forever) failed twice, and the event where you have a 67% chance to get a sage in your city, and 3 health in the city failed. While there is some chance that all these would fail, the odds are pretty low. anyone else have problems with some of the events working?

The sage event has worked everytime for me so far.
