FfH2 BtS Conversion Beta

Right, well i reinstalled the patch and its definately in the right place (just install it to the FFH file in Mods right?). and all the things i listed before ( Italics below) are still there. I played a couple of games as the Kuriotates, on a huge continental map:

Archeron the red dragon spawnes on turn 5, not in a city and he rampages around. Wiped me out 2 turns after he spawned :confused: is that supposed to happen?

no Orthos spawns (ever)

the pact of the Nilhorn dosnt work,

The sprawling trait dosnt work.

none of the palaces fit in with the city 'grid' and so coverup all the buildings in the middle of the city.

The Civics in the civic screen dont scroll, they just run off the edge of their pannel.

The Religeions screen is very cramped ( religions overlap each other)

The Hero promotion dosnt seem to work because heroes dont gain EXP

Spell casters dont gain EXP

'Free promotion' promotion dosnt work

The Adaptive trait dosnt work

Alignements dont seem to have any effect

Fellowshp of the leavs cant build Song of autumn with a great prophet ( oh never mind, you need a great Bard for that )

Apprenticship is still present (didnt you get rid of that ?) it dosnt show on the civics screen but when the tech is researched i have the option of changing to Apprenticeship

the Grand menagerie gives every city a tower of Alteration \

Adepts can get promoted to every shpere of magic without the node present.

Religion icons are still vanilla
 
Weird Llama. As they mentioned almost all of those issues were fixed long ago. When you look at the /Fall from Heaven 2 024/Readme.rtf file, what verison does it say it is?
 
it says version 0.24a, but i installed the patch... maybe its a dud DL, ill try again.


EDIT: i know what i did wrong, i installed the patch into the FFH 0.24 file directly where i should have installed it to the BTS Mods file.
 
Hi. Playing balseraphs with latest version of BTS and patch V of FFH. Not sure if this was meant to be implemented yet but:
(i) Caravans don't appear to be working
(ii) I can 'drown' warriors into the drown for 0 gold
(iii) I can cast 'Sanctify' and reduce the armageddon count on any city that I own, even without a city ruin. It has no effect other than reducing the armageddon count.

Other then that, and one or two other issues mentioned in the last couple of pages of posts, the game seems to work perfectly. Nice one.
 
With Patch V

image 0000 - Unit was able to retreat from fireball. Maybe this is allowed, I'm unsure but it seemed strange to be able to retreat from spell. Maybe it is like avoids fireball.

image 0001 - Cassiel asked me to go to war against Hyborem, I agree, then Hyborem asks me to go to war against Cassiel, all in the same turn. I was at war with both then made peace with Hypborem, all in the same turn.
image 0002 - is same as above but the turn log

i have also attached the save from the turn before.

In my newly started game I only got this Exception so far(it happened several times):

Test out a tower with worldbuild and see if its working or not. The best way is to put a unit in a grassland without any hills, mountains or forests arounf him. Just clear flat land, and see how far he can see. Then try the same on a space with a tower.

I have experienced the same problem. I placed a scout on an ancient tower in jungle terrain and it did not reveal any more of the map than if the tower was not there.

That error where you were asked to go to war with two opposing civs at the same time is a BTS bug. I've seen in the regular game as well as in other mods. A bit surprised it does caused CTD.

Mountains should block line of sight of towers, but I would think the towers would rise above trees. I don't know if Kael will be able to make it do both though.
 
It would also be nice if peaks offered extra line of sight too, more than that of hills of towers. It probably would have been in vanilla, if there were units that could cross peaks (excluding units like gunships, which are flying over the terrain and so should have a better line of sight anyway)
 
researching Message from the Deep doesnt give a Zealot, just the holy city if youre first

would be nice if Great Lighthouse require 4 normal lighthouses to build like how the Great Library needs 4 libraries

summoned basium (tho had to worldbuilder re-add hyborem because he died the turn he started for some reason), and it put the units in the city i made the gate, but the city stayed as my old civ.

That has happened to me with FoL and the Order. Someone else reported the the same thing with AV. I'm not sure if it is a bug or intended. Last time I looked at the first post I didn't see anything about it.
 
Ok, well ive got the latest patch working (v) and i really dint notice anything too out of place:

A lot of city art is missing, Harbour, light house, and a few others. Amurite palace (from age of ice)

palaces take up centre of city, ie they cover up other buildings.

the conversion seems to be going really smoothly (touch wood) good job Keal and team :D
 
I decided to playtest and noticed three things on my (quick) run through.
1. It says version 23 under fall from heaven on the main screen. Yes I realized that this has few real importance and will be changed later. Just wanted to remind you.
2. My scout was suicidal. Yes this is an oppinion, and probably not your fault, however, attacking a bear with a 25% chance of winning don't seem like great odds.
3. THIS ONE PROBABLY MATTERS. I crashed. I was playing as the light elves, saw the carnival, went into the civilopedia. First I clicked Gipsy wagon, then I went back (hit back button) and instead hit harlequin. Got shoved to the desktop with the usual error mesage, (BtS has had a problem and needs to close)

4. Started a new one game and crashed again. Ljolsafar(spelling?) Arboria, I went into the fyrdwell civolopedia page, went to horse archer, and used link to get back. Same message as before. Has the civolopedia been fully implemented in game?
 
Nevercme, the Civilopedia crashing is a known issue with BTS, which will be fixed in the next version. It isn't a issue with FFH.

We are kinda stalled right now because the latest version has been converted to BtS v13. As soon as Firaxis releases v13 publically I can release the patch and get feedback. Hopefully that will be in the next few days.

The first post has the latest updates in it. I only have one item left scheduled to be added into this version (Domination or a replacement Mind 3 spell). Im still scratching my head trying to figure out what to do with it. I did puch a few features to "Shadow", they won't be provided in the "Fire" BtS conversion (most notably sprawling).

I expect the steps to be:

1. Firaxis releases v13.
2. I release a feature complete BtS version of "Fire".
3. We get any reported issues fixed, missing features you guys point out are either added or pushed to "Shadow". I am going to put a hard limit on this time, probably a week. I really want to get on to the next step.
4. Start working on the first build of "Shadow".
