FfH2 Bug Thread

Once again, aren't 35 defenders in Acheron's city a bit excessive?;)

I think if you totaled the number of defenders in barb cities, you would come up with at least 100, while roving/raging barbs would be maybe less than 25.

Huge map, .40o

The Sheaim used their worldspell, and for the first time in addition to the fire damage to many of my units, I had buildings destroyed in my cities.

I caught only two in the quick message, but they didn't mention the cities affected.

I went to the Event Log, and there were no entries about city buildings being destroyed.

PS. The Sheaim got theirs...it was justice that Stephanos and Buboes destroyed them first!:)

Just a silly question here.. what do we do when the patches get to Z? Were are already workin on Q. xD With several things left on the to do list. And the obligatory patches to the patches. :P

I don't know the whole order, organization, table of contents systemization of the process is a bit obscure and as this isn't really a industry product ... industry standards only serve to break up the chaos ... I say give in to the chaos give me 'patch tomato' or 'patch rainmaker', maybe 'patch Zimbabwe' ... more than likely it'll be somethign like patch a2 ... ???

Probably not a bug, but I'm wondering if anything could be done...

I have FOL as my religion the whole game. I build the Mercurian Gate while researching Commune with Nature. Basium's turn evidently comes before mine because my lovely ally starts building Yvain before I get the chance.

I know I can get him to change what tech he is researching, but is there any way I can get him to back off from building a hero I was looking forward quite some time to build.

The AI's record of handling heroes is abysmal at best, and I'm thinking Yvain would not be around long.

So, can I get him to stop building, and, if not, if Yvain is killed, can I build him?

Thanks

Get him to change religion. You'll be able to build Yvain then.

That's the only way, short of having the city building it razed or something. You could possibly run a civic that allows you to gold rush, and buy Yvain first.

When a teammate is building a world unit or building you cannot even attempt to beat them to it, you are locked out.

Change religion/have his city annihilated it is then. :P Or if it gets captured by the enemy, that should do it too.

Unfortunately, the city had only FOL. I guess I should have spread another religion to it while I was building the Gate, but I never thought this would happen.

With Basium alive and well, and plenty of Angels there was no way he would be wiped out in the five turns it took to build Yvain.

OK, it looks like once your ally gets in that first shot at building a World Unit, you are out. :(

If you are allied, you should be able to tell your ally (assuming it is an AI) what to research through the diplomacy screen. If you have the AI player change research one or two turns before you finish reseaching, you will be the one to complete research on your turn giving you one turn to queue up the hero/wonder that is unlocks. Assuming that the code hasn't changed in FfH that is. I had similar problems in BTS and someone in antother forum opened my eyes to this tactic.

Yeah, that works still.

If you have a save from before you researched Commune with Nature Sarisin, you could go back and make him change research.

I don't think that would work in FFH.

Even if Basium is researching something different (he often wants to, even though I will ask his research to coincide with mine), we both get 'credit' for the research being conducted on the tech the same turn, I think. Again, it appears his turn comes before mine and he gets first crack at building the unit. I cannot see how I could put Yvain in my build queue as he doesn't appear until I've finished researching Commune with Nature. I would think Yvain appears in Basium's available units the same turn as mine.

Anyway, not a common occurrence in a game to be sure, but if I get the chance again, I will do as you suggested.

Argh, many turns ago and not worth going back that far in the game and repeating all those turns.

Thanks for the suggestions, though, guys. I will try if it comes up in another game. :)

definitely not a bug, just weird:

Kael, you gave Gurid banana affinity without mentioning it in the changelog. you sneaky person :p

you forgot to give it to Margalard too though. :D

I've found something strange immediatly after downloading patch "p".
I went to the readme file to look at the Version and it sais taht is "k". I installed again the patch "p" and it's still "k". First, it was "o"... I don't know hos this affected the game, now i'll try load a save game and i'll see if it broke them or not.

Edit: saved games are still going on, aren't boroke, as they shall not be with patch "p" from patch "o", so probably it's just a writing error in the readme, could it be?

The readme hasn't been updated to say patch P. It is definitely patch P though.

It is possible IF one of your cities finish production on the turn you finish researching the tech. Then you get the "what do you want to build" popup and the AI can't pick until you have.

Otherwise by the time you can change your queue the AI has already had it's chance.

Two things. 1) Another crash, after updating with patch p.
2)The readme.rtf still reads 0.40k, perhaps it needs updating ;)

This will be fixed in patch "q". Dain is splitting off a colony and he has a hidden nationality unit in a city. Dropping the colony free units on top of the hidden nationality unit is causing the crash.

BUG: Sidar divided souls spell which makes a severed soul unit, the severed soul is not permanent, and only lasts 1 turn.

Psychic, I'm not sure this is a bug!?

Gekko, does Gurid really have banana affinity or are you pulling our legs? How does it work, he would get a +1 to combat for each banana owned by the barbarians? I just had the 'pleasure' of dealing with Gurid -- he killed 8 of my untis before I finally took him down!

Best wishes,

Breunor

He seriously does - look him up in the civilopedia.

Not BUG: In FfH, Severed soul last one turn, while in FF it last forever.
