We play with three players offline.

Due to the unfortunate numbers of players we play cooperative (to avoid going two on one in our precious freetime, it is very frustratigng to be on your own against two friends).

On Civ IV, Vsnilla we are able to beat the AI on Deity / Immortal vs about 6 AI driven enemys, huge map, but only after a challenging fight.

Now we are interested in Fantasy and play FFH2. But we experience the AI as very crappy, ie. the AI plays bad, not challenging , makes stupid mistakes.

Can someone give advice to challenging settings for FFH 2 within the given parameters?

hi,

this is the wrong place for random quastions,

one of the moderators will probabaly move it.

anyway - i have a quastion for you - when you played the game before you tried ffh2,
did you play without mods?
just plain civ4 bts?

thanks.

there are certain ways to boost ai aggression - throught the leader head xml file - adjusting some settongs.
the handi cap xml file has ai war probability that can be raised.

go to civ modding wikki for further info on what are all the tags in those files i mentioned means.

Try the More naval AI mod for FFH, the AI wont just build ships(wohooo) but also be 200% as smart as before.

Yeah, it is true. Definitelly try Tholal's More Naval AI mod. If you do not play it, just do not play with a lot of water, it should help

Also, DO NOT play Aggressive AI - it cripples it.

Also remember, that a lot of barbarians kill AI.
If you want more challenge, play with "no AI building requirements" - AI has a problem with understanding which buildings it needs

For more challenge you can also "play according to the lore" and for example found only appropriate religions, do not change aligment, do not associate with civs that you "should not" assiociate with... it will be a little harder game when you will try to add a little role-playing element (of course, not everyone likes it)
