FfH2 Roleplaying Games [Thread III]

okay, so .... Sunday game anyone? Onion and I are already here.

Me, Marco and Gyther are currently online but we need another player (or a few!) for a good rp game, anyone joining? there's no rush as we'll wait about 2 hours (from time of posting) or so for players.

Mimic, nice Avatar xD

anywho .... Im HOME again!

Maybe we should try to set a date & time that works for everyone, because logging on randomly and hoping for enough people doesn't seem to be working any more.

The official time for a game is Saturdays, It's in the first post. but I agree if we could work a time and date for a big game with lots of people that would be great, organizing it can be problematic however as we have people from every corner of the world playing lol (british, american, german, egyptian!) once, we had 14 people turn up for a game at the same time randomly ah those were the days...

Thats normal. If you're using the free version only 16 (or something) allowed in a network even if they're not online at the moment.

They're usually on the IRC channel #erebus as well so gothere and ask someone to kick offline people from the network.

It seems similar errors have happend with hamachi over the past several weeks or so. According to Kragroth the only way to fix it is to uninstall and then reinstall hamachi. Let us know if you are able to sucessfully join and see other people's text, ect.

I have an idea or two of my own on the matter, but as I am currently away from my gaming computer, my analysis will have to wait.

Greetings, I would like to know how the rest of the game went, after the proud Grigori were defeated. Just so you know, not keeping to my promise I was actually staying and quickly finishing my turns. Was I killed off so as to not provide intelligence to the enemy? xD

But yes, I soon left to tend to other matters after I was killed off.

Ehh... The Calabim Vampires were to strong to defeat, so the allied forces withdrew to their cities to bide their time. Basium was trying to rally Chalid to our cause, and I was aiming for High Priests. However, before either of us could complete our goals, Sheaim mages brought hordes of spectres to bare upon our cities in the south; Our units there were more than powerful enough to defeat the threat. The Sheaim, noticing this, moved north.

This is where things turned sour. I noticed I could utilize my Soldiers of Kilmorph's Dwarven trait to attack the stack of Sheaim Mages from inside their own lands. I prepared for this, giving them Haste and all sorts of buffs. Combat odds were 80% with my weakest unit, and I outnumbered the enemy two-to-one. However, when I moved to attack, something funky happened and my soldiers decided that they didn't actually want to kill the mages. They moved to the hill right next to the mages, then stopped. In addition, the stack broke and started acting weird, so I could only move one soldier at a time. By the time I finally got my SoKs organized again, the enemy fled.

At this point in time, I was moving the non-dwarven part of my army north. Arthendain in particular was the key to my success against the Sheaim; the Sheaim's Spectres had 8 strength, but his Defensive Strikes usually did 40-60% damage before they even attacked, which allowed my remaining troops to finish them off. Arthendain and the rest of my troops were sitting right outside my holycity, posed to move into the city to guard it next turn. As soon as the turn rolled around though, I hit a lagspike and couldn't do anything; by the time I recovered, the Sheaim had captured my city. What pissed me off wasn't that I lost, but that I couldn't do anything about it.

I regret I had to leave but it was 3:30 AM and I was only half-concious.
I assume my Stack of Spectral Doom was killed quite easily after Shaeim were taken over by AI, wasn't it?

 wow, I'll assume whoever that was didn't read the first post...

You mean no stacks of doom? Then it would be loss from the start. Because if there were not so many vampires, Basium + Gilden + Chalid + Baron Halfmorn + catapults + radiant guards (from 3 players, so not a stack of doom) = death to everyone. Radiant guards BLIND everyone, Chalid BURNS them, catapults weaken them further and heroes get free xp.

P.S> I forgot to mention hundreds of angels and manes you get every turn. What should you, disband them? :D

I have no problem with it ... the downfall of good was its slow action.

Now, it seems like it was possible to turn things around, as Chalid had not yet been built. I would be happy to see what would happen if it continued. Either a long an hard battle or a quick victory for evil at any random point due to RNG ... sounds like an epic tale if good managed to win.

I wonder ... (since I was already killed) ... does anyone have a save?

Hey all! Great to see that the MP community is still alive. I've played some FF recently (the newest version) and have become smitten with the mechanics... so I'm sure my FFH skills (never tip-top tbh) may have slipped... but I may start playing again... this Saturday I have to work... but I have been off a lot of Saturdays... hard to tell.

I'll check in when I get off work maybe : )

Guess I have to re-install Hamachi or something (I have been reading that haven't I?)

Anyway... great to see you guys keeping it alive!!

Talk soon!

Peace!
