Trade routes try to move over open terrain as much as possible. The grasslands are logistically quicker. I'll look at it closer tonight to see.

Following a recent shortage in fish in the great Lagoon great famines have caused countless deaths in Seedumn Mosse. The Council quickly saw that the situation was deteriorating and thus decided upon a grand scheme to help with the food problems.
They proposed to build a Brave New settlement, with just a handful of men (and the other kind too) in a hopes to save their ageing empire with new resources of fish from the fishing grounds in the sea beyond the lagoon.

This settlement was to be called Sphagnum Moss and was to be settled with a small contingent of 100 men. All income was used to help brace themselves for more famine by investing it into the capital.
