Final Fantasy Mod Progress Updates, Part II

YAAAAY, chocobo knights! Isn`t there a shadow of somekind (almost invsible?) behind the Al Bhed dude? Or do I need to go se a doctor?
I have a feeling this will be my favorite mod, if you don`t get stuck playing Civ4... I know I sure won`t, my comp is too old... Thank you for making this mod, it will prolong my Civ3 gameplay experience for many, many months (WH did, and i have to try out a bunch of other mods)
 
ok, well I see what you are talking about with the Lunatic Pandora... Im not having luck with shadows...how about the Observatory and Wind farm?...mostly the wind farm, would you rather have them on flat ground or is the Mountain ok?...

Knowing where the Lab is should make it a bit easier...

what and where is the Sorceress Memorial?...I again keep finding a room with pillars

I'll keep looking for the Blue Narcissus...

hopefully I can finish these...I want you to have plenty of time so the Chocobo knights come out faster...
 
Yeah, the observatory and wind farm were okay. I just did the icons for the Lunatic Pandora in about half an hour.

The sorceress memorial is due south of Estar. I could try to look at it, if I can get FF VIII to work. If I can find it, I'll try to take a screen shot and do a splash off of that.
 
You just need a splash?...The inside shot is incredible for that...I'll find the best shot and post/convert it

could you post your improved Pandora Icons?...the build_icons I have are fine, but if you drew a better one, I'd like to use it...(I use everything I make in my personal MOD)
 
Actually, I've got the screenshots I need for the Sorceress Memorial Icons and splash. Basically the Sorceress Memorial has the same effects as the Universal Sufferage in the epic mod, since in almost all FF games, women are pretty much treated equally as men, so having a wonder for universal sufferage is kinda pointless.

I'll see about posting the improved icons tomorrow.
 
Currenlty, I'm just using the original ones, since the CG in this mod (very) roughly correspond to the RL ones.... Well, that and since my time's limited, replacing the palaces is a low priority for me.

BTW, ton of stuff done on the mod in the past few weeks. Muffins just gave me his incomplete (but nearly so) version of the Galbadian Soldier, and I'll be using Open FX to complete the model (eventually, like after I get the next 3 or four Poser models done), so that will be done eventually. I've got the Shinra SOLDIER finished, and all that's left for FF VII UUs is the third Shinra UU, which will either be the red Shinra Attack Sub OR the X-Cannons that you had to fight during the assault on the Sister Ray at the end of Disk 2.

In addition, with Spacer One's help, I've got the Lunatic Pandora Lab (replaces the Internet), Bugenhagen's Observatory (Copernicus'), Zanarkand Dome (Shakespear's theater), and Alexandria Castle (Sun Tzu's) wonders finalized. In addition, working on my own, I've got the Dollet Comm Tower (SETI Program), Dr. Gast's Laboratory (Isaac Newton's Univ), and my Weapon Development Program small wonder (increases research and produces a Makou Cannon every 10 turns) finished as well.

In addition, I am even now rendering out the first FF King unit: Cloud Strife of AVALANCHE (easy to do since all I have to do is take the Shinra SOLDIER models, which are already animated, and change a few props and re-render).

I've also got the Al Bhed Machina Hunter finished, so FF X is now taken care of (as far as UUs are concerned.... I still need to make King units for both Grand Maester Mika and Rikku). After I get a unit I promised Shirokobure done, I'll start working on the Middle age Chocobo unit: the Chocobo Knight. The unit is completely set up and ready to animate, but I've got to get through Cloud and the Geisha assassin first.

I'm additionally considering making LHs for Regent Cid of Lindblum and King Cecil of Baron, since the LH I have right now don't look that much like who they're supposed to be.... but that remains to be seen.

I've also started getting things around for the FF I civs (based on 8-bit theater), where Thief is the Leader of the Light Warriors, and Garland is leader of the Dark Warriors. I've found the perfect breastplate for Garland, and will be using some helmet and other props to make that LH fairly soon. For the Garland King unit, I'm using ED's Chaos Warrior, and for the three Dark Warrior UUs, I'm using Aaglo's Dark Elf Assassin for the Dark Elf Blademaster (based on Dri'zzle from the 8-bit theater comics), Smoking Mirror's Pirate as well, a Pirate (based on Bikke from the original game & the 8-bit theater comics), and one of Embryodead's vampires as a Vampire (based on the vampire charachter/boss from the original game & 8-bit theater). For the Light warriors, I'm slowly working on a color conversion of the Wizard for a Black Mage unit (although I may end up doing my own since it's usually faster to just make the thing in Poser than to muck around with C&P). In addition, I plan to make a Red Mage and a Sword-Chucker (a guy armed with sword-chucks YO!.... See 8-bit theater comic for details).
 
Yeah, I got an easy-pose nunchuck set off of renderosity, and I'm going to use Kinboat's PD figure and two of his knight swords parented to the nunchuck handles to make this unit......
 
Just wait until I start editing the diplo.txt..... I'll have Theif saying things like "Your GP or your HP!" when making demands or Regent Cid (leader of Lindblum in FF IX) randomly saying <GWOCK!> or <RIBBIT!> in the middle of what he's saying (due to the fact that his wife turned him into an Oglop over some alleged infidelity, then in attempt by Princess Garnet and Zidane to cure him he got changed into a frog before his wife forgave him and turned him back to normal).

If you are gonna have a Privateer type unit, you could call it Bikke`s Scurvy dogs! YAR!

And maybe, just maybe you could do a rhonso unit? It would fit well in other fantasy mods!
 
Hikaro...just out of curiosity, are you doing all the Main chars? that seems like alot of units...I saw you did Cloud...Will there be s Sephiroth unit following?...or a Tifa?*

No, I'm just doing the different faction leaders. For example, since Cloud is the leader of AVALANCHE, I'm doing a Cloud LH. Garland will be the leader of the Dark Warriors (once I get them added), so I'm using ED's Chaos Warrior to represent Garland in the Regicide game. I'm using Aaglo's Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer to represent Emperor Gestahl of the Vector Empire (since that unit DOES sort of look like Gestahl), etc. The next King units I have on the blocks to do are Princess Garnet of Alexandria (dressed up in her "Dagger" outfit, complete with mage staff) and President Rufus Shinra (I'm going to use Kinboat's PDM with a white version of the Bond suit and he'll be armed with a Shotgun prop that Civ Army gave me).

I'm also working on other FF units, such as a Chocobo Knight (the second unit in the Chocobo lineup, but the first that I'm doing since all the components were pretty much ready made... I just used Kinboat's knight and Chocobo figures, and the unit is ready to animate), Generic female Ranger unit (available to all civs except those that have UU replacements) to go along with my all-female defensive ranged unit line (the first is the archer, which uses Kindred's Amazon Archer, the third is the Gunner, which uses Kindred's Tomb Raider (who looks sorta like gunner class Yuna from FF X-2) and the fourth and final upgrade is the Sniper, which uses Kinboat's Bond Girl).

In addition, I'll be doing the rest of the Chocobo line (unless someone else wants to help with this), which will include a Chocobo Rider (lightly armored rider with a spear), Chocobo Cavalry (lightly armored rider with a gun on a Green Chocobo), and a Chocobo Dragoon (FF-modern armored (ala Shinra trooper or Galbadian soldier) rider with modern rifle on a Black chocobo).

Other UU's needed are the Forest Owl (based on Rinoa with wrist-boomerang attack), Third UU for SHinra (will either be Sub or X-cannon ultra heavy mobile artillery), Lindblum Aviator (replaces Jump-trooper for Lindblum), Burmecian Dragon Knight (In progress by Dease), and Hilda Garde III airship for Lindblum, Alexandrian Holy Knight for Alexandria, Galbadian Soldier (In progress, files transferred from Muffins to myself, just needs to be worked on), Estar Soldier, some kind of third UU for the Returners, I'm seriously thinking of doing the Half-Esper as their UU (based on Terra) or the Black Jack airship, the Imperial Sky Armor for Vector, Third UU for Ivalice and Viera Sniper for Bervenia.

Also, I need to get unique summons for each game as well as unique techs and small wonders that spawn the summons. For those games that do not have summoners or summoned creatures (FFI, II & CC), I'll just give them all the same generic summon tech, small wonder and creature.

As you can see, I've got a buttload of work ahead of me.....
 
but its all so detailed, this MOD is gonna be so sweet...it will be nice after so much Sci-fi work(by me) to get a nice Fantasy MOD, espescially a FF one...

BTW are you gonna release the Chocobos seperate or do we have to wait?
 
As with all my units and about 98% of my building and wonder graphics, I'll be releasing them as I go.
