Finally won on Monarch level!

Just want to post that finally I won a stupid game on Monarch level using all the defaults!!!!

Man it a great feeling... now on to a different civ and see how I do

Congrats! You're ahead of me then, I've only won at Chieftan or Warlord levels. I am making progress though, Chieftan's too easy now. Not sure if I'm ready for Regent yet, since I got wooped last time I tried. But I'll play Warlord for now or at least until my next victory.

Congrats! I think that Monarchy is the best level to play at, since the AI is not given overwhelmingly strong advantages over the human player. I have beaten Emperor, however due to principle, I refuse to play it and stick to Monarchy, since techwise it is a more even playing field. =o)

Monarch is definitely the best level because it is the most difficult level to play where I am guaranteed to win. I can beat emporer, but I am often sweating it.

Keep up the good work and make the AI pay!!!

Emporer is not too bad, I think the only difference is you are dealing with slightly more units. They dont get an extra settler until DG I think, then its like dealing with a foe that is twice your strength.

I like Demi-God because it gets really boring when you just take them out with like ten units like I did in my first monarch game
they get the extra settler on DG but you can still out expand them if you play nicely

I know the feeling. I'm trying to win on Sid. I had five games at that level and so far no victories.

Going to experiment a little more on monarch level before I move up to Emperor. I feel that monarch is a good level to play at, though. Gives them a slight advantage to make up for their inferiority

My first regent win felt great. My first DG win with the iroq's felt absolutely great. Now trying to beat deity

Now, move to higher difficulty and beat some ai's!

Emporer is not too bad, I think the only difference is you are dealing with slightly more units.

Ack! You're kidding, right? At emperor the AI gets food, production and research bonuses, and the barbs get like a 50% combat bonus against you. Monarch is a level playing field, production and combat-wise. Emperor and above tilts all advantages away from the human.
