Sometimes when Hyborem attacks his friends who summoned him you need to teach the Demon a lesson...

That looks like demonic david and goliath:lol:

will there be a way to expand this to other fellow players?

Its not a technical limitation. I leave it to just the summoning player as a reward for their accomplishment. If you are beat to it, then you arent playing as Hyborem in that game.

I suspect that may be a bit of a dissapointment for some players who want to switch to Hyborem and find that another civ gets there first. Just like when we first added Orthus players were dissapointed when they didn't see him in a game.

But thats what dynamic games are all about.

I love the new Sheaim. Conceptually, they were always my favorite Civ, and I expect the new mechanic to support an interesting twist on the "Builder" playstyle.

I saw at least one old summon unit on the gate list. I would advise against using creatures that can be summoned by existing units. There is potential to confuse your summoned and permanent units if they overlap in type, and every other Civ will have unique unit graphics anyway. You also might consider revising the gate list to create something more thematic, like having all greek mythological creatures or all pseudonatural/aberration creatures.

Also, as I mentioned in the main FFH2 thread, I would suggest using different and unique language to differentiate between units that come from gates, units that are permanent summons (e.g. Skeletons and Tigers in Light), and units that are 1-3 turn summons (e.g. Sand Lion and Fire Elemental in Light). For example, I would call Sheaim units "Gated", permanent summons "Called" (and perhaps "Raised" for undead), and temporary summons "Summoned".

How will the Council of Esus affect Sheaim gated units? Will they begin with XP? Will they be giftable?

Ahh, excelent change to the Sheaim. :goodjob:

And I just bumped up my RAM, and have to buy a new vid card and monitor so the new stuff should look awesome. And I can play bigbass maps. :D

(BTW, if anyone can reccomend a good PCIE vid card, feel free to send me a PM (and not spam the threead. :D))

Mithril Clubs are better - but Kael outlawed their existance....fashion facist.

EDIT: After posting this, I have to admit - I have always wanted to use the term Fashion Facist, its one of those moments we who love words live for. For not only is there a distinct beauty in the timing and alliteration, but also in the pain that it brings to those whom read it. Making me a Sitting Sadist.

A Mithril club with those boots, never!

Runes has the Mithril Golem, but are the other two early religions going to have some sort of late-game kicker to help them hold out against the forces of the Order and the Veil? Leaves with the Ancient forest can help protect against hell and fire, correct? Seems like OO is left out a little bit.

To be honest the focus of our work has been on the Order and the Veil. We knew they were under utilized in "Light" and we didnt address it because "Fire" was coming.

I definitly expect that we will need to do a lot of tuning to get things just right and find a balance between all 5 religions. But we want your feedback before we do that.

Fair enough.

Seems like it might be appropriate for Overlords to get some mild benefit from a high armageddon counter as well, but I guess that'll be figured out later on.

Civkid: here's your answer: Kael says...

100 is when apocalypse hits but it sounded like Kael might leave the possibility of a higher score bringing Bhall or Agares into the world... We shall have to wait and see! unless of course Kael sates our unholy lust for knowledge sooner...

Regarding the incentives to band together, someone (possibly a couple of people) suggested adjustments to the war weariness mechanic, possibly even a "negative" version providing happiness bonuses, or at least reduced penalties, for civs who fight alongside their co-aligned allies against the opposing forces, probably tied to the armageddon level in some way. In fact, you could fairly easily make war weariness heavier for going "against the grain" at medium-to-high armageddon counts. This would, of course, apply equally in MP as in SP without forcing you into otherwise undesirable wars until the counter gets really high (which makes sense). We'll have to see how it plays out really :)

I like that idea! :)

Right now Hyborem will declare war and try to take a city by force. I definitly wouldnt recommend adding civs beyond the default for the map.

But we are still thinking about it. I will probably end up giving Hyborem a spell that he can only use if he has been around for x amount of turns and still doesn't have a city. Something that will allow him to raise a new hellish land mass out of the ocean and teleport all of his units to it.

Give Hyborem a special settler that will build a city on any bit of land he likes (except mountain) and automatically razes any city within a 2 square radius of it. This also causes war (which discourages Hyborem from doing it to his friendly AV civs unless he has to).

(inspired by Rhymes mention of Hellish settler)
