The state of some features of civ V remind me a certain classic of bad games, Big Rigs... See here or here for some laughs. Very streamlined play and user friendly play ( you can't lose, after all :D )

Very funny movies. Very sad that this is Civ future, prolly - a poor game! :-(

Amazing topic, btw!

Thanks for the links, the nasal-talking guy review whas fun, I have to agree that Big Rigs is a very streamlined game, but it does not feel as organic as Civ5

BTW... it surprises me that no one has actually posted screenshots for the varied City improvements for ciVI... Here's a shot or two...

Wow.
I could NOT believe that I've just sit here for a whole HOUR and listen to this guy's review!
I was like "oh, let's check it out, shouldn't take long..." and then simply couldn't stop watching/listening - VERY good entertainment!

It was amazing, and I agree with you that imo has a lot in common with Civ5 vibe I'm getting. All this "mainstream streamlining" (while by removing the slider they force all players to manually switch between science/commerce city by city, tile by tile btw) looks to me like a cover to not show to the audience that they had no clue what to do

Thanks for the link, and I'd like to say that it's not really off topic, even if it looks that way :)

Check out his other reviews... Hours of fun :)

I'm pretty sure facebook Civ the winners/leaders are going to be paying through the nose for premium bonuses.

Killstreak is a really neat idea :)

Anyway, if you enjoy good laughs then you should really see the Phantom Menace video review by RedLetterMedia (and all other reviews from him). It's just crazy hilarious. It's a bit off-topic, but civ V is sometimes compared to SW prequels.

I just want to say thank you for eating an hour of my life. It was awesome! My stomach hurts from laughing! How can we get this guy to butcher Shafer in his crawlspace (lol j/k.....maybe)

Naah, i wont buy that. Pressing "End Turn" is too complicated for me. Moar streamlining pleeeze:P

Oh yeah! Civ 6! Its just like civ5 exept it only has more everything!

Theres just one problem.. ..im afraid the the civ6 looks a bit too complicated for new born babies. I think they should simplify it a bit.

EDIT: I just love The Giant Mutant Missile Mech Squid! I also think that it is even more realistic that the Giant Death Robot ever was! The Giant Mutant Missile Mech Squid is like a big sloppy love kiss to the community!

awsome thread - deserves another little bump to keep it going - thread of the year for me - on any board :)

Indeed. I still can't help but to laugh. Its at least a front runner for thread of the year.

Civilopedia:

X's make excellent counters for O's and like O's, receive a significant bonus when occupying the center square tile. X's have been used throughout history, beginning with the ancient Greeks who first conceptualized them. Their use continued to spread through the implementation of the Roman alphabet, the implementation of algebraic mathematics. X's have also famously "marked the spot" for 16th and 17th century pirates, and continued into modern times to be a powerful stand-in for anything and everything. X's require that the player have the "click" resource.

O's have made similar contributions to civilization, from the ancient wheel to the modern CheeriO. They get a round faster than X's. Some players will consider them pointless compared with X's but their holeiness represents religion in a streamlined fashion. An O (can you stop after just one?) also represents the iconic police symbol, the donut. The O does not require any resources because many civilizations have used it to represent nothing.

Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen. :D

I have been informed, via the niece of a second cousin of a friend of mine, that a Civ6 expansion is already being contemplated which will contain a Y unit in addition to the previously announced (leaked actually but let's not be picky) X and O units. In the Y-unit expansion pack the game's complexity will rise to be comparable to rock-paper-scissors, a game previously thought to be beyond the capability of an AI. I'm told that because management so far finds the modified game difficult to play (having as many as 3 "unit" buttons instead of the previous maximum of 2 after the related learn-resource buttons have been pushed) it may never reach market. We can only hope that they'll recognize the size and influence of their core fanatic user base and carry on with this ambitious expansion targeted at advanced users.

A major feature of Civ6 I've heard of are the Tamagotchi City States (TaCS). Now not only can you gift gold and units to City States but also feed them, pat them, dress them and undress them. A new unit, the Streamlined Mobile Toilet (SMT) is introduced which will require excrement resources and it scales organically with TaCS. A new contact type called "Fall In Love" is introduced into the revised diplomacy screen, which can be established between leaders of opposite gender and adds an additional dimension to game play, which will take place outside time and space inside Black Holes.

Oh sorry, forgot to mention, that finally we will have the long awaited 0UPTs. Where units don't stack with terrain tiles.

By the way, TaCS will be added in a series of DLC. The first one adds the TaCS themselves for a low low price of $9.99 ($39.99 in Australia). The next one will be available after a year and make the AI competible with the new feature; this one also costs $9.99. Then the last one adds SMTs, for another $9.99.

The Fall In Love feature works best with the Contact Kit, which you can purchase at your nearest game store for $39.99 for an even sexier Civ experience!
