pfft I wont be buying this. Clearly its just Civ5 with new graphics.

I was hoping I wouldn't ever have to end turn. I was thinking the game would be better if it just showed me a victory screen when I loaded it up.
YAY!! You loaded the game, you win!

Why wait for civ VI to do that ? We already have Big Rigs for ages

Finally! Am I glad to hear the news... all the unnecessary things like resources, hill/forest/plain/river/... tiles, all these boring nonsense statistics have been removed. These were anyway always irritating and/or were extremly unbalancing the game since I always want to have the advantage and win the game... or the game will simply suck. Somehow... it's just too much micromanaging... hopefully Civ 7 will be the Civ we always wanted. BTW, since Civ 1, I've always been waiting for gamepads to be finally supported. yehaa

Some questions to the beta testers:
Will it support 2-Player splitscreen mode and some kind of "autoplay-and-win-my-session-while-afk" (to let my comp handle everything for me while I'm at work) mode???
Will the Klingons be finally added as a nation???

Too bad the Astro and Delta Megazord Units are missing... AGAIN

Sorry, there is no splitscreen mode, as the screenshots in this thread show, it allows up to 4 players at once, and splitting the screen into 4 parts makes the game less organic and streamlined.

What it does have, is a very exciting new feature called Hyper-unit cycling. Basically, once it is initiated, you see every unit in a matter of a second, in an epileptic seizure inducing method.

No need for an afk mode, you can buy end game scores, just pick your civ, your end score, pay, and bam! its in your best games.

Been laughing my butt off all day with this thread! Just want to put in my 2 cents.

Oh, I so hope they make it like this.

Can't wait to show all my friends on faycebawks that i can do it online!

The FB spam that would to ensue would be mind-boggling.

It would be at least as bad as farmville...oh well, at least we can revoke apps abilities to spam us.

Fixed it for you. :spear:

I'm actually excited for the ciVI killstreaks. Kill units without losing any of yours and you gain bonus. I'm not sure if eliminating a barbarian would count as a kill.

Killstreaks
  1. 3 kills: gain +2 vision for the duration of the war.

  2. 4 kills: a bomber spawn at your capital.

  3. 6 kills: 5 cruise missiles spawn at your capital.

  4. 8 kills: Golden Age

  5. 11 kills: an atomic bomb spawn at your capital

  6. 15 kills: a tactical nuke spawn at your capital

they turned our beloved CiV into a war game.
Here is my suggestion for the Killstreaks:
1. 3 kills: 3 :culture: in the capital
2. 6 kills: 10 :food: in the capital, 5:food: in other cities
3. 11 kills: 200 automated "end turn"s
4. 21 kills: three mutant ninjas spawn at your capital (+5:culture: for each)

I haven't read the hundreds of posts inbetween (yet), but I have to give Bad Brett a congratulations for his brilliant satire. This thread made my day.

Killstreaks

heheh love the killstreaks idea! you could also have it pop up with giant text and a booming voice saying "RAMPAGE!" and "DOMINATING!" with each milestone: Unreal Tournament style.

could also have chances for each unit to deal a "HEADSHOT!" to opponents, killing them instantly!

This thread is the gift that keeps on giving.

Killstreak is a really neat idea :)

Anyway, if you enjoy good laughs then you should really see the Phantom Menace video review by RedLetterMedia (and all other reviews from him). It's just crazy hilarious. It's a bit off-topic, but civ V is sometimes compared to SW prequels.

Wow.
I could NOT believe that I've just sit here for a whole HOUR and listen to this guy's review!
I was like "oh, let's check it out, shouldn't take long..." and then simply couldn't stop watching/listening - VERY good entertainment!

It was amazing, and I agree with you that imo has a lot in common with Civ5 vibe I'm getting. All this "mainstream streamlining" (while by removing the slider they force all players to manually switch between science/commerce city by city, tile by tile btw) looks to me like a cover to not show to the audience that they had no clue what to do

Thanks for the link, and I'd like to say that it's not really off topic, even if it looks that way :)
