I had a few ideas for some cool things that might pop up, in the tradition of the Sailor's Dirge.

1: Isle of the Damned
-A 1x1 island, preferrably deep in the ocean, that contains a gateway that leads to Hell. Should produce undead like a Barrow, and be guarded by a Wraith named Death's Guardian. Basically provides a possible entry point to Hell, requiring only a strong unit and good exploration (as opposed to powerful magic)

2: Prophet of Doom
-A Barbarian Disciple, the Prophet of Doom should appear some time after Acheron. The Prophet of Doom is essentially an Inquisitor with a few extra promotions...
Hero, Sorcery, Fear, Chaos 1-3
Essentially, he's a Barbarian that can cast Rage and use Command, to bolster Barbarian forces, hopefully leading to more powerful Barbarians in the mid-game.

3: Nexus of Evil
-A portal that will open in a random location the moment Necromancy is researched. Demons and Undead will pour out of it constantly, but it cannot simply be razed... only a Priest (any Priest) can seal it shut.

Actually I really like the #1 idea, but I'm sure Kael has something like that planned. Like the arcane towers in Master of Magic.

+1, but without it granting peace with barbs. I don't see orcs care much about what you do with krakens, and peace with barbs is already a flavourful mechanics for a few civs and possibly the Veil, I don't think it needs more spamming.

Besides, spawning a lot of berserk krakens around is FUN, no matter if they'll attack you or not :D Then again, maybe the Divine Water III spell could be changed from "summon kraken" to "command kraken" or even "command any kind of water beast" (high success rate), so OO are less hindered by it than other civs. (I can already imagine two OO fleets against each other, each trying to take control of some lone kraken during their turn)

At any rate, I'd love to see barb sea monsters spawn like normal barbs anyway (still waiting for that Sea Serpent model right ?). Getting OO priests to be able to secure ships from water-based barbs would be very flavourful.

Perhaps a late game armogeddon ritual in the OO Holy City would summon up a whole bunch of kraken and possibly bring about the island of the damned idea; except in this case a spot of land with a city is created to represent ole Rl'yeh rising up from the depths (possibly with more kraken, a lot of drown and other units and maybe old Squid Head himself). There's a chance (slim though it may be) that Squiddy doesn't try to wipe out cities with Octopus Overlords in them, perhaps?

Needless to say, its a lil clear I'm a Lovecraft fan.

* How about some babarian ocean animals from the beginning? Strength one ore two.

* Enchanted Roads (similar to railroads)
Double movement on roads, Enchantment II sorcery or so
one spell, one road tile enchanted

* Build objects like Orthos axe (but not the axe...) . You could build the "Armor of Ligth" or a shield or something (like unique world units). Its fun to kill a unit and get something (or lose it and get it back).
