I don't what it happening, but lets see...

I got my first quarter grades today, and, although not to my surprise, my grades were nearly the opposite of what they were last year, first quarter.

Notables:
English: Last year: B- This year: A+
Math: Last Year: A This year: C+
Latin: Last year: A+ This year: C ( It dropped 12 points because of missed homeworks)
Physical Science: Last Year: A This year: B-

I normally consider myself a Math/Science student, but this is really wierd... I like linguistics, but still...

Well, I got mine and it's the worst GPA I can remember ever getting. Probably because I'm only taking 6 classes instead of 8 so my bad grades don't have as many A's to cancel them out. Doesn't matter, quarter grades don't mean anything to me, only semester.

delete post.

More info...

Like, what was hard in Math that wasn't last year?
Nothing. It is exactly the same material. English was probably because I got to choose what I wrote about. Latin, I have no idea, other than that I did my homework last year. The Science thing was primarily due to harder material.

Force yourself to do your homework every night. Although I have a B+ in Algebra 2, I would have an A but I missed one homework (that's all it took). Fortunatel, Quarter grades don't mean anything. They're just a good check to tell you what you need to do to improve.

My GPA is slipping too...a 4.1 this quarter.
Ack. How awful!

(way to shove it in their faces even more)

Tomoyo what type of math are you taking this year (algebra 2, geometry, pre-calc etc.)

My grades have slowly improved throughout high school as I came to the realization of their importance.

Mine too, 4.75 so far :(. It should end up a 5.0 though, I only have to raise my grade 2 points. Damn my teacher for taking off 50% from an assignment for neatness without previously specifying that he would grade for it.

My grades tend not to fluctuate, last year I think I got a 3.6 unweighted GPA every quarter. Except this year, I got a 3.46 :(
Mostly because I hate english :thumbdown, and thus do poorly in that class.
I just don't get Algebra II, so another B-

How do you get GPAs out of 5.0? The highest possible I can get is a 4.0 (well, 4.5 weighted) :hmm:

Some school district raise the points possible for AP class, allowing for 5.0s, my district does not do that so my best is a 4.0.

My gpa is 6.9, SAT score 1700 (they gave me extra because I provided a supplementary essay response to each question), and my IQ is 290.

...seems to be where this is headed!

Since this thread is quickly going in the direction of your typical "What's your IQ" or "What's your SAT score" type of thread
Looks more to me like you just want an oportunity to show off... :p

you can't edit it out that easily! :nya:

...erm yeah those stats are reallllly to show off ...heh...

actually I thought my current (edited) response was more clever, and it says the same thing basically.

How did you manage that? Are your classes weighted 4.5 Honors, 5.0 AP? That's how mine are, so the highest possible in sophomore year is 4.5. You would have to be taking many AP classes for your and Azadre's scores.

Unweighted I will wager that mine is around 3.7-3.8.

All of my classes are either AP or college classes and I'm a senior, not a sophomore.

Unweighted it will end up 4.0 almost surely, currently it's 3.75 for the reasons I mentioned above (4 AP classes this semester, 1 AP class, 2 College, and 1 undecided for next).

I wasn't meaning to brag by the way, I'm being serious. Part of it was just joking around though.

I assumed you were a senior or junior; I'm a sophomore so I said 4.5 is the highest possible limit for sophomores(unless they somehow are taking an AP Class, one kid is in AP Calc BC)

I said it as a joke, but it looked like people took it too seriously.
