One commentary

Jay, this is without a doubt the single worst mock draft I have ever seen.

Myles Garrett #1? Dude, have you not seen all of the rumors of the Browns going Trubisky #1? No way they draft Garrett at this point. The Browns NEED a franchise quarterback.

This is a silly trade. Why would Chicago trade up one pick for someone who is going to be there at #3? Especially giving up a pair of thirds like that. In a draft this deep? Turrible.

onejayhawk said:
4 JAX Leonard Fournette | RB, LSU
Oh, a mock with Leonard Fournette going to Jacksonville. How originall

onejayhawk said:
5 TEN Corey Davis | WR, Western Michigan
Davis is good, but David Njoku would be better.

onejayhawk said:
6 NYJ Jamal Adams | SS, LSU
C'mon Jay. Not even the Jets think Adams is going to be there when #6 rolls around.

onejayhawk said:
7 SD Mike Williams | WR, Clemson
A receiver to San Diego? With all of the holes on defense and so many good receivers as is? I don't see it.

onejayhawk said:
8 CAR Christian McCaffrey | RB, Stanford
I dunno. I keep seeing this in mock drafts, but Carolina loves their power backs and at 202, that is not McCaffrey.

onejayhawk said:
9 CIN John Ross | WR, Washington
Ross at nine? REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEach. Seriously, you think in the best defensive draft anyone has seen in years, Cincinnati is going to draft an injury prone speedster?

onejayhawk said:

I would think if anyone would not want to see this, it would be you jay. Trading a third and a future first to move up and get Mahomes? With Kizer AND Zach Cunningham there at #27? I thought I knew you jayhawk. The Chiefs are a VALUE ORIENTED TEAM. VALUE. ORIENTED. There's no way they would trade up to make such a reach.

onejayhawk said:
11 NO Marshon Lattimore | CB, Ohio State
The pick makes sense from a need perspective but c'mon. Lattimore falling out of the top ten? Not happening.

onejayhawk said:
Trade - Texans trade #25 and 2018 1st

12 HOU Deshaun Watson | QB, Clemson
I've been talking to Texans fans for weeks and they are insistent they aren't drafting Watson. He flat out does not fit their vertical offense. He doesn't have the arm to make it work. They aren't drafting Watson at #25 let alone giving up a first round pick to trade up for him. And what, now Cleveland is going to own Houston's first AND second round picks in 2018? For noodle armed Watson? No siree.

onejayhawk said:
13 ARI Haason Reddick | OLB, Temple
Once upon a time, I thought Arizona could take a linebacker too, but Sio Moore has allegedly played very well for them. And now Daryl Washington has been taken off of suspension. No way they pass on Jonathan Allen for Reddick.

onejayhawk said:
14 PHI Derek Barnett | DE, Tennessee
Really? A defensive end? With all of the money they're paying Vinny Curry and a just signed Chris Long? This is a team that NEEDS a cornerback possibly more than any team needs anything.

onejayhawk said:
15 IND Malik Hooker | FS, Ohio State
No way Hooker falls this far. And even if he does, they resigned Darius Butler and intend to move him to free safety.

onejayhawk said:
16 BAL Marlon Humphrey | CB, Alabama
I used to think corner was a possibility for Baltimore too, but after signing Brandon Carr, I have been convinced they don't need one anymore. At least not in the first round. They have holes the size of Rhode Island on their offensive line and if they miss out on the first round WR's, they would likely go that route or an edge rusher.

onejayhawk said:
17 WAS Jonathan Allen | DT, Alabama
I mean, I think the shoulder could cause Jonathan Allen to fall, but not even I think he's falling this far.

onejayhawk said:
18 TEN Adoree' Jackson | CB, Southern California

How..... DARE you have the Titans pass on future greatest NFL player of all time, David Njoku for a plebian like Adoree' Jackson. This is an affront to all that is holy in this world. The Titans are GOING TO DRAFT David Njoku no matter what.

onejayhawk said:
19 TB O.J. Howard | TE, Alabama
Do you honestly think he's going to fall this far? There have been runors he could go as high as #4. I would be shocked if he fel lthis far.

onejayhawk said:
20 DEN Garett Bolles | OT, Utah
I dunno. This is kind of a reach. Maybe if they traded down first.

onejayhawk said:
21 DET Jarrad Davis | ILB, Florida
I dunno. I mean I would think if the Lions were going to draft Jarrad Davis with Reuben Foster and Zach Cunningham still on the board, they'd wait until the second round. Foster has injury concerns, but Davis wasn't exactly the sturdiest of fellows in college.

onejayhawk said:
22 MIA Charles Harris | DE, Missouri
I could see maybe a long term replacement for Cameron Wake, but in round 1? You have no interior linemen going at this point and the Dolphins need one more than anything.

onejayhawk said:
23 NYG Evan Engram | TE, Ole Miss
Drafting a slot receiver a year after they took Sterling Shepard in the second round? I mean I know Shepard despite a pretty decent year was a C-O-L-O-S-S-A-L mistake with Michael Thomas still on the board, but he was not so bad that they need to replace him one year in.

onejayhawk said:
24 OAK Gareon Conley | CB, Ohio State
Dude, Joe Mixon and Dalvin Cook are falling out of the first round because they punched women. You think someone who has been accused of RAPE is going to get drafted that early?

onejayhawk said:
25 CLE Jabrill Peppers | SS, Michigan
I dunno. I've mocked Peppers to the Browns in three of my five drafts (and one where I didn't was done purposely so) and Browns fans seem really upset by the notion. If they take him, I think everyone is going to really rail on what would be a very good pick and a great team fit. We'll have to see.

onejayhawk said:
Trade - Atlanta trades #31, 3rd and 7th

26 ATL Takkarist McKinley | OLB, UCLA
I could see the trade happening, but all rumors point to Jordan Willis. Also, there is talk McKinley could fall out of the first round due to injury. Just the same, I wouldn't be opposed to it if I were a Falcons fan. He seems like an articulate, polite, well composed young man.

onejayhawk said:
27 BUF Tre'Davious White | CB, LSU
Ahead of Kevin King?

onejayhawk said:
28 DAL Taco Charlton | DE, Michigan
I dunno. Looking at Dallas' draft history this century, they seem to prefer defensive backs in the first round and waiting until round 2 to draft a pass rusher. They are rumored to be very interested in Obi Melifonwu and you still have him on the board at this point.

onejayhawk said:
Trade - Cleveland trades #33 and 4th

29 CLE David Njoku | TE, Miami (Fla.)
So you think Cleveland is going to have THREE first rounders and somehow manage to not draft a quarterback. That's insane.

onejayhawk said:
30 PIT T.J. Watt | OLB, Wisconsin
I dunno. It makes sense, but ahead of Reuben Foster and Zach Cunningham? Who is going to replace Lawrence Timmons?

onejayhawk said:
Trade - SF trades #34 and 4th

31 SF Reuben Foster | ILB, Alabama

There is no way he falls this far. The dude is a top ten talent. Can you honestly think of a linebacker projected to go in the top ten who fell out of the top 30 even due to injury? It just doesn't happen.

onejayhawk said:
32 NO Ryan Ramczyk | OT, Wisconsin
It's possible with Zach Strief's age, but they need so much help on defense, it would be a surprise to see them draft an offensive lineman in the first round again. Also, would the Giants and Seahawks really pass on Ramcyzk? Both need offensive tackle help badly.

This is a bad mock draft J, and you should feel bad for writing it.

I would be more impressed if you posted this before the draft actually happened. You haven't even given us a link to where this discussion happened.

I still wouldn't be impressed, because I'd assume there was some rigged play long before I thought J was telling the truth about anything, ever.

They seriously didn't know it was the real draft? Or was it more of a roleplay thing?

I'm pretty sure it's a roleplay thing. That's the most polite way I can put it.

I'd be even more impressed if it was posted before the draft, particularly the three QB trades.

Yes, the whole thing is role play. I posted the actual draft in a mock draft forum, inviting criticism. Knowing this, he then critiqued it as if it were a genuine mock draft.
