In the posts concerning our rivals I mention what of our known techs they do NOT know ... and also what we have gleaned about unknown and researching techs through diplomacy :D



Regarding the letters ... here

We will send something soon ... I am busy with fireworks display this Saturday and must concentrate on that :(

However ...

KISS Responce sounds good ... I propose to add the techs we will be trading to KISS in the letter, ie. no Poly and no HBR ... as Poly was part of the end deal and HBR was not wanted.

This of course will force KISS to turn to Nuts (as if they have not intended this already) ... therefore D-Nut Letter is giving too much info ... I'd prefer to send them an invitation to trade and see what knowledge they want from us ... also send no enemy intel to them as yet.

TNT ... we are waiting for a responce from them ... I believe Chamnix sent a letter asking if they will trade Construction for Poly and Lit ... assisting them on the Monachy path.

All further discussion will occur in the respective Term 5 team folders ... good start ... I have also started a new Term 5 thead

you will have my full attention in 3 days time :D

Foreign Offices will commence Operation - Embassy Instalation , :mischief: involves the pestering of team mates until they are worn down and relent (just to shut me up) :lol:

Cost atm is Nuts = 43gp and TNT = 54gp

After seeing that Robi_D played and sent the save and still no reply from previous correspondence (the latter to Rob's PM) ... I have sent a terse message requesting reply and also discussing courtesy (reason for delivery confirmation was my e-mail is glitching)

This will I hope generate some movement ... at least we will know in no uncertain terms the type of relationship we have with the two Battle Islanders.

What exactly is our foregn aim with regards to our neighbours ??

Wee have better uses for that money than waste it on useless embassies. :p
 
I'm actually starting to come around to Fe's point here:

We don't envision attacking TNT, so the benefit of up-to-date capital info is nil. I could see waiting a few turns, but not too long: They'll be anxious to set them up, especially with KISS and DNuts.

Dnuts are our Secondary target, and we may not get to them for forty turns or more. What are the chances that Dnuts choose to plant an embassy on us in that time? Pretty high, I think. This one I think we should definitely do now.

KISS, our Primary target, has already popped one on us, because they're jerks.

I know it's 100 gold, or the cost of 2 swordsmen, but I can really see the value at this point of in the game.

But seriously the Foreign Department would like to establish them in TNT and D-Nut ...

I think that our new member gbno1fan :wavey: has merit in the setting of a budget ... that way Foreign and perhaps other ministries would have monies to use at their discretion.

Not sure about other ministries as that is taken up by general budget ... BUT we need a black purse so that the full power and benefits of the Foreign Department can be unleashed :mischief:

After Embassies there are other projects :evil: that require capital ... therefore perhaps setting aside an amount for sole use of Foreign Office would be good ...

I fear peace will breakout in Battle Islanders :( and therefore brains start to work ... Embassies will become discussion poiints in future agendas and they will definitely look at planting them on us ... I HATE NOSEY NEIGHBOURS !!!
 
As far as nosey neighbors are concerned, I think it's pretty much a given that KISS' screenshot of Athens will be sold to a foreign power (Dnuts). Likewise, KISS will probably sell the screenie of TNT's capital as well.

The question is: How much will we ask of a foreign power for the ScreenShot that KISS gave us of their capital?... We could also sell the screenies of TNT and Dnuts to TNT.

Actually, we should just give TNT the screenie that we have of them that KISS gave us. There is no use in selling it, and it will only serve to foster good relations.

We could offer it as a gift. Soon after, we should ask them for a 'playlist' of how their war progressed: Turn by turn, unit by unit. I really want to know more about how humans (specifically our opponents!) play this game.

I still havn't DLed that lovely diplomatic font yet :(

Was just thinking of nailing Nuts into the Lux swap Ivory for Wines ... but can wait a bit due to Harbour needing to be constructed by them
