I am trying to modify the fortress improvement into 2 variations for multiplayer use only. Since i dont know how to modify the AI to properly use the modification.
Original Fortress:
Requires: Mathematics
Effects: +25% defense on tile (when built in forest it removes forestand and overrides any other improvement on the tile)
NEW Fortress:
Fortress: (Fortress itself does not flip to cultural influence but surrounding tiles do.)
Requires: Mathematics
Fortress: +50% defense while occupied Fortress produces +1
Per level of highest unit in fortress. Great Generals occupying Fortress produces +1.5
Upgrade: Keep: Requires Engineering and a Level 4 unit in the Fortress
Keep: +75% defense +10% to health recovery
Fortress can be built in forest/ungle tiles and will not remove forest/jungle. When upgraded to a Keep the forest/jungle is removed
NEW FORTRESS:
SeaPort: (does not flip to cultural influence.)
Requires: Sailing and Optic
+25% defense on tile
Can only be built on tiles adjecent to coast tiles.
Contributes to Trade route allowing resources to be shared to other cities and other seaports. The seaport has to be connected to the resource via road, railroad, or river.
All of these tile improvements are damaged by bombardment and are destroyed once their defense reaches 0.
I think These 2 (techinically 3) mods improvements. would make a huge difference in the way multiplayer games are played. If the AI can be updated to implement these upgrades that would be awesome.
I would like to ask 2 things from the community
1. feedback of course.
2. assistance
This is my first time modding so if anyone can offer tips and suggestions on how to proper modify the files that would be great. Maybe there should be other things i should be tweaking in game that i am not aware of.
