Forum problems 2009/01/26

I suspect a database error has plagued the forums once again.

THe first post is missing, everything else should work.

On the sites blog, it says there was a database error. I was having trouble getting into various threads and nothing would post and posts were randomly missing.

Thanks for using civfanatics.net! It migth be good to post that everything seems to be working again.

It's like the database errors ate the first post of the thread!

I dont know why they stuck with an older file format. FAT & FAT32 is only good for memory sticks now a days (unless youre lucky enough to have a memory stick over 4Gigs)

We are going to be upgraded to a 64-bit Linux 2.6.x system very soon (next weekend?). It has a 16TB limit on table size. ;)
That begs the question, is there anything larger than 16TB by the time we fill that up too? :scared:

so the database got full?

The flashing envelope that says we've got an unread PM isn't working for me. It's gone.

so the database got full?
Right. This will be fixed when we migrate to a new database server in the near future. In addition to that, Atomic Gamer has also increase the maximum # of rows allowed in database table, which was not high enough.

The flashing envelope that says we've got an unread PM isn't working for me. It's gone.

Try clearing the cache and reloading the page. You can also try to view the image directly and try to reload it:

Okay, it's back. :) I got your PM before seeing this post, so I guess everything is okay now (I have another message to read).

civfanatics.net gets tagged as a gaming site, so i can't access it on my college computers. Luckily CFC Forum doesnt!

Lucky B******s !! We use webwasher at work and CFC has been tagged as a gaming site, so I can't access it anymore.

Surprisingly, this led to a great increase in productivity (that is, if you discount the two full days in which I tried to fix this problem and find a way to browse CFC at work ;))
