Fox-05: The RNGod Strikes Back

See, rex, someone is more jumpy and impatient than I am. ;)

But, beard puller, I think the normal SG convention of 24/48 means a total of 72, so, vra should have another 24 hrs to keep clicking on "Do you feel klinky, punk?" until he gets the his favorite position and venue .

@Paul: so what is your role in MoV?

Gratiano, he who speaks 'an infinite deal of nothing'. Fairly appropriate, really.

"Let me play the fool! With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come! And let my liver rather heat with wine, than my heart cool with mortifying groans."

Words to live by.

I always thought it was 48 hours total, 24 to post a got it and another 24 to play.

In any case it worries me not, I just pre-empted your own demand, to deflect Rex's inevitable whining  :p

@omni - break a leg and don't mention the name of that Scottish king.

i, too, thought it was 72 hours total, BP ~ btw, do you guys think you'll EVER please the RNGod this game?? at least he's doing a good bit of striking back ~

Ah Ozbenno, I don't know if it's your optimism or the fact that I'm allowing myself to think my exam went well that's making me smile.

*yawn*

Yeah...I really do hate 7 to 10 Pm exams on a Friday night.

Do these people not have anything better to do? Bah, anyway, report is coming up.

I awoke cursing my fortune. The loamy groud to which we were sentenced was harbouring all sorts of vermin, and it was ruining my sleep. I did dream about founding a new city. (Rolled 2 - Settle or capture) But, nations needed to be run and all that, so I got up, and let Oz have a term in the bed. Thinking of the pleasures of post-modern life, I reminded myself to ask Greyfox exactly what he'd done to make the RNG God revoke our birthright. Sighing, I walked into the throne room. Or mud hut with a highly polished stump. Bah, this period was ALWAYS rough.

After getting carried out on my stump to the field across the river, I saw our working men trying to build a road, so I left them at it. Shortly after, one of our farmers to the west told us that he had been keeping a chicken, and it had kids. Perhaps we should do the same to other animals. I thought it was a good idea and in keeping with HIS or HER word and let them at it. They constructed something called a fence (YOU PUT THE COWS INSIDE YOU WITLESS DOLTS!), and the warm feeling inside made me pleased. I think RNG God was happy.

Just then, a priest came running out from his bath (taking another one while wading across the river) to tell me a vision. Apprently we were to build something BIG to honour him quickly. (Wonder in 35 turns) With that in mind, I decided that we needed to learn more about combining straw and mud. (Masonry due in 11).

Moving my stump back inside, I decided it was time to EXPAND! There were horses to the east, and I'd be dammed if I didn't get the job done before it was my time to sleep again! ("GET TO WORK SLACKERS! WHIP 'EM INTO SHAPE IF YA HAVE TA!") To help the job along, I decided to chop some seaside lumber.

A bit later, some troubsome kids were playing up on a hill far from the capital. While they did get a bit of cut from the unusually sharp boulders, I was pleased. Iron Working seemed to be a viable option, and plans were made to set-up a mining town.

A book came out by one of our traders..the good news? We made the list! The bad news? We're hopeless! (Number 7)

Getting sleepy and fustrated, I whip that settler and send him out with an escort - we need a new defender in the capital. Oh well, fighting men are easy to train.

Shortly after I hear the city (Guangzhou) has been founded, and decide it's past my bedtime. All seems to be well...and to all a good night!

So, I got both objectives, and we have horses. I'd feel safer with two chariots. The Wonder challenge is going to be a flop I think...who knows. Anyway...all goes well, and we need one more city by the Iron. Pics coming up soon.
