Fox10 - The Real Thing

/delurk

Immy, what are you smoking? Cuzco should CLEARLY be working the 4f4c clams instead of the fish! The pennies add up, you know.

/relurk

I wouldn't be so fast to :whipped:, chances are Immy was MM'ing the city every turns, sometimes working on the fish for faster growth, sometimes on the clams for more coins. Just so happen he took the screenshot on the day when the fisherman feels like eating fishes.

--

Irrelevant. The point is the whipping. :mischief: And it's a great stress reliever!

@stuge:

Flying high on amphetamine, huh ? ;) The city is set up for max production, not for max commerce. Teching faster by 1 turn doesn't help us if we lose the Pyramids...

Pyramids will be nice. Do we want to pick up monotheism for OR at some point since we have an early religion? +25% on wonders will help us build wonders faster. When we finish the pyramids, we'll probably be doing at least a representation + CS revolt. I think that's still 1 turn on epic so we may want to save the OR revolt for later with Bureau.

But +1c is better than +1f since the city is on the happy cap anyway...

Okay, I'll stop now. This is getting beyond the definition of "bad." I'll just go play CIV and get my anal fix.

Wait, what did I just type.

I played a bucketload of turns, but it was just to end in a good timing ( isolated OCC are extremely boring until you find someone and I started to hit enter automatically..... even the 20 turn reminder passed almost unnoticed )

Started by finishing BW .... no cooper around. No revolt to slavery ( we don't need slavery now....)

Hmmm ... if we are on happy cap, wouldn't the whip be much more productive than working on the mines? For instance, we could whip a temple and increase our happy limit and grow back to size 6 in no time. Same apply to granary, another workboat, etc. The overflow in hammers may end up getting the pyramids faster. We are getting complacent with the apparent lack of excitement ...

Ruff_Hi is UP, pawelo (you got saved by shyuhe who requested to be last on roster ;)) on deck

Ruff_Hi is on deck
Ruff_Hi is on deck ... up. Got it. So, what is the plan? Play 5 turns for the mids and hand it over? Where do we go tech-wize? Iron Working? Org religion for the +25% on buildings?

Ofcourse not play 5 turns and hand it over. I think we would revolt to Rep+slavery once pyramids is in. Then go for Terrace/Workboat to quickly grow to size 9. A whip might be good on the forge (we have double speed prod bonus for forge I think). Tech-wise, my suggestion will be to go for the literature path ... iron working is now less of a priority until we meet one AI. Sailing might be needed somewhere in between writing and Literature to get lighthouse up.

--

I agree that whipping will be nice with all the excess food. IW has some merit I think. If we chop the jungle tile, the forest to the SW may regrow before we get to replaceable parts. That would be a nice bonus (and allow us to chop one of the riverside forests). Of course this is purely luck dependent.

TGL goes pretty late in general (AI doesn't prioritize aesthetics) so I'd say go for the lighthouse first so that we can get more specialists up and running.

Hmm - lets see. What did I do this turn set. Stared on turn 85 ... finished on turn 117 - oh my, that is ... err ... 32 turns. Oops. Double oops. Errk - sorry, played a few too many. I knew I just should have played 5 turns and handed it over. Well, I hope my play was up to scratch. Anyway, here is what I did:

  • Cuzco finishes: The Pyramids - :D
  • revolted to representation and slavery - 2 turns of anarchy (!) - I was only expecting 1 ... hey, that means I only played 30 turns ... feeling slightly better
  • finished writing and started Research begun: Aesthetics (27 Turns)
  • Cuzco finishes: Terrace, whips a Forge, work boat, Library and Hindu Temple
  • Hires 2 scientists when the library is finished
  • pops a Great Engineer - currently waiting for orders

Other stuff ... firstly my joke ...

Seems to me ruff_hi's played my turns
:D

Anyway, I won't be playing until wednesday - civless from now until then.

Looks like some decisions have to be made:
- how many turns will the next turn set be? I was thinking 29...
- what to do with the GE
- what to do with the GSci, should one be generated
- what to tech ? I suppose CS

And I have to look for the joke :scan:

Hmm .. 30 turns is a bit excessive.

Since we would be running out of things to build, go for sailing first. This also increase our growth rate. Our happy cap should be at 10 with a temple, so grow as soon as possible to that size.

First GS is obviously an academy. Next and all subsequent GS should be settled. There is only 2 real possibilities with the GE. Settle, or rush TGLibray.

Hmm .. 30 turns is a bit excessive
I know, I know - got carried away. :spank:

Lots of stuff happening in a turn or 2, growth to size 10, tech comes in, wonders to build. I too vote for settling the GE.

I humbly disagree. I still think we should go sailing first ... it is cheap compared to any other tech we choose next -- which brings me to my second disagreement: yes, we would eventually want caste, but not now. We simply don't have the size to make full use of caste. I think we should take literature first.

For a time ,i must agree with Fox... Literature would enable us to get the great Library with his 2 scientists.....

And BTW, to all of the non americans, Happy new year ;) For the americans ,just wait a little longer
