I'm playing version 1.21f. No mods, monarch level, random standard size map.
I seem to have been given two "free" techs in the game. I do not have the great library.
The first time I just let it pass byand didn't think about it. I discovered a tech. I think, but am not sure that it was the last tech I needed for the ancient age. Right after, during the same turn, I was told that I discovered another tech . I think it was one of the first techs in the middle ages. I don't think it was the tech I choose to start research on either.
The second time, I discovered the last tech needed to complete the middle ages. On the same turn, I was then awarded Nationalism, which again wasn't my choice (I like steam first). I had not researched several optional middle age techs.
By the way I don't think I had a tech lead in the first instant. I may have had the tech lead on the second instant.
So, did I get free techs by a bug, or by other means that I don't know about, or was I just confused about what happened?
